  1. Many thanks for the answers Manyo and Awaoffski.
  2. Hi Awaoffski, Many thanks for that. I was worried that the change was overdue. Many thanks again, Rabitus.
  3. Hi, My Roomster has covered 67000 miles. Bought it with 64000 on the clock. Not sure if the gearbox oil has ever been changed, can’t find this in the service book. Can anyone tell me what the service interval should be for changing the fluid please? Its a 6 speed box in a 1.6 Roomster 3 on a 58 plate.
  4. Just an update, noise returned when the weather got much colder, so back to garage for a thorough inspection on their ramp. Bushes ok, but front offside ball joint worn, gaiter had split. Ball joint Changed, tracking reset and all fixed now.
  5. Thanks NZ, took car to garage... car was warm when I got there. Mechanic said that during the very cold weather, the bushes can contract slightly, as they warm up the free play reduces. Since the weather has been milder over the last few days, there is no noise at all over the speed bumps. Asked me to keep an eye on it for now, and they would change the bushes if it gets any worse...
  6. Hi All, Have exactly the same issue with my 58 plate /66k Roomster 1.6, which seems to have manifested since the weather turned colder. My road has some pretty steep speed bumps, and when I go over them I hear a clang, which reduces down to a slight knock as the car warms up. It’s not noticeable at all during normal driving. Booked into my local garage on Friday afternoon for them to have a look on the ramp. Passed Mot about a month/ 500 miles ago, at the same garage I’m taking it to, who I’ve been using for years and trust impeccably. Like others, I’m guessing it’s the console bushes, but still confused as to why the noise would reduce as the car warms up. Will let everyone know what the garage say.

  8. Hi Ken, Many thanks for the quick reply. I understand that there's a sensor somewhere around the latch, therefore was a bit reluctant to oil or grease the mechanism, but will carry out your advice to spray some lithium grease onto the mechanism. Many thanks again, Rabitus.
  9. Hi, I apologise in advance if this topic has been covered before. I've just bought a 58 plate Roomster with full Skoda service history. When opening the bonnet, I notice that the latch mechanism seems devoid of any lubrication. On my previous cars I've always found that bonnet latch mechanisms have been greased or oiled, which is something I've always attended to during routine maintenance. Is is there any reason why the mechanism should appear dry, and if it should be lubricated, what is the recommended method? I've used ordinary LM grease in the past, with a bit of 3 in1 around any swivelling parts. Would be very grateful for suggestions or comments. Rabitus.
