  1. According to my logic, way of filling up correct amount is by measuring how much you drain with measuring cup, then fill up same amount back in using measuring cup.
  2. My warranty runs out in 6000 miles(about 6 weeks time as per my driving).
  3. I have spoken to Skoda UK regarding my VIN - no, my car does not have any gearbox recalls/issues. But I believe oil cannot last forever, hence I bought oil and will be changing it.
  4. That is 2012 thread when my geabox wasn`t even on the Skoda`s as my one was made starting from 2013.
  5. Good morning, I have bought gearbox oil (takes 1.9L, bought 2 x 1L) and new plug from VW. There is no filter in this gearbox. But before I go to garage to change it, I would like to see how its done. I tried searching forum, but can`t seem to find any info who has done it. Anybody got any manuals/photos/videos of oil change for my gearbox? Want to see location of drain plug and filling whole locations most importantly. Thank you
  6. I have had no more issues with oil consumption after I topped up with my own Castrol oil. Dealership must have used cheap low quality oil.
  7. Went to Skoda to pick it up. Asked them what did they do? "We took under tray off, checked if its not leaking, that`s it." I then asked them why nothing else? "Because Skoda won`t pay us for all that work, if you ware willing to pay, we will carry out further checks like oil consumption test etc". Its a joke. Spoke to Skoda UK on the phone, they advised to to and get second opinion in another dealership, but I will have to pay. "Warranty covers faults, but to find them, I have to pay". I think I need to stage a protest by VW UK head office in Milton Keynes, manufacturers warranty means jack ****.
  8. Just had a call from Skoda - they checked everything, no problems found. No oil leaks, no smoke, turbo is fine. What on earth I do now?!
  9. No idea. As soon as I explained everything, he went "oh, that`s normal, it even says that in Skoda manual". Its bull****, sorry, it consumes way too much - 440ml in 2000 miles. I have driven it for 20k miles now since bought, never had to top up oil, been level all time. Before last service, I bought oil and filters myself from VW dealership and did change myself. Then decided to do service at Skoda and bang, end up with this problem. Lucky I still have manufacturers warranty left (2 years or 60k), so in case they tell me "we checked, everything is fine", I`ll be calling Skoda UK.
  10. When I just bought it, I phoned Skoda UK and asked them about DSG - they responded "Your gearbox doesn`t have any recalls. If any will come up, we will write to you".
  11. Booked in this Thursday at Skoda. Guys said "if you read a manual, it says it can consume 1L for 1000 miles". I wasn`t having any of that, its been fine for 20 000 miles, now suddenly 440ml in 7 days time. Let`s see what they find.
  12. Good evening gents, I had oil change at dealership 6500 miles ago. Last Sunday engine oil warning light came on - low level. Had to top up 240ml. Drove 1000 miles this week and light came on again yesterday morning, topped up again. What could be the problem why suddenly oil is disappearing so quickly? Should I go to Skoda with this? I only have 7000 miles left till 60k manufacturers warranty runs out. Thanks
  13. I get average 60+ mpg. But I`m driving like a gran at 60 mph and being very gentle on accelerator. Can`t ask for more mpg, this is as good as it gets.
  14. What I have also noticed is - if its a really hot day like last weekend, mpg drops considerably. I was driving in a city this weekend in a day time and then at night. What a difference to consumption it made driving at night in a cold weather - way more mpg!
  15. Plenty of stock in factory https://www.aliexpress.com/item/VIOFO-Original-A119S-2-0-LCD-Screen-Super-Capacitor-Novatek96660-H-264-HD-1080p-60fps-Car/32814159720.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.kpNR7M
  16. So is there a filter in my gearbox? Can it be done without those special tools?
  17. My DSG doesn`t even have filter and its sealed for life, therefore I cannot even change oil if I wanted to - car parts shop said they are not able to supply filter or oil for it. Shame, as I don`t believe oil can last forever.
  18. I have spoken to Skoda UK and they said my car is not affected by 34H5.
  19. Make sure you get new A119S model, it is MUCH better quality video with Sony sensor and Novatek chipset. Only 99 with GPS and hardwire kit. I got one myself.
  20. I have 7 speed DSG and its best gearbox I`ve ever had in terms of comfort. Very quick gear changes, very quite. Pleasure to drive!
  21. I`m interested in location for mk3 Octavia too if anybody please know.
  22. I spoke to Michael from Listers Skoda who told me there is no pressure in fuel filter. Took me 10 min to replace. Undo torx screws, replace filter element, put screws back. Took some 5 seconds to get it started, then another 15 seconds uneven running and then it ran like normal. Just be careful/slow when lifting a lid, fuel will be dripping from it, about handful. Put lot of paper towels around filter. There is no need to pour fuel in filter before putting lid back. Don`t be afraid to do small stuff like this yourself!
  23. On the end of right hand side stalk there are two buttons - up and down. Use them to scroll via Maxidot menu to see all data.
