Problem with DSG 6 in Octavia II
Roba10 replied to Roba10's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Thanks for the reply. Seems like there are not many (in Finland) who have the ability to go into the mechatronics, or the will to do so. I think that the exchange of the solenoid is something I can do myself. I have the time, patience and youtube, so I should be fine Also not so much to loose with this old Octavia, what i don't want to do is spend 1500 EUR on a rebuild, as the value of the car not much more than that. I have not yet checked the connection point to the mechatronics, will first give that a check and treatment with contact cleaner. Any other advice is welcome! Robert -
Greeting, My car is 2006 Skoda Octavia 2.0 TDI The DSG box works ok cold, but after a few miles of driving it throws into safe mode, the PRNDS flashes and the only gear that works is number one. When the car/box cools down, it works again. I scanned the DTCs for the transmission: 18154 Transmission solenoid power relay: Electrical malfunction: P1746 19164 Pressure control solenoid 6: open or short to ground: P2732 Are there experiences from these, is the failure of the solenoid due to the breakdown of that relay or are there separate faults? Is there an estimate of how to replace those components, is it a big job? That solenoid does not seem to be a very expensive component, but is it interchangeable? The car is old and the monetary value is not very much, is just otherwise in good condition, an probably many potential miles left in it. Grateful for all the tips and help. BR Robert

Problem with Xenon auto adjustment
Roba10 replied to Roba10's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
If the sensor is bad, i suppose it should give an error in the ODB-II, but there are no errors at all. The strange thing is that the left light levels out normally every second time and high every second or third. I have not tried to adjust the headlights manually, but I bought the car two months ago, no idea what my predecessor have done. Where is the motor situated, it is probably inside the bulk headlight assembly which detatches from the car entirely? and where is the sensor situated? I suppose the next step is top open up everything and try to identify something wrong. Sometimes a light treatment also helps Do you know any good youtube videos for instructions? -
I have an Octavia 2006 with Xenon lights. There is something wrong with the auto height adjustment of the lights. Every second or third time I start the car the left hand Xenon adjust clearly too high. The right hand side always stays at the same level, which I assume is the correct one. Sometimes the left side adjust correctly to the same level as the right side at startup, but after returning back after a drive it is again high, it seems to loose adjustment also during driving. I park my car heading a wall, that's why i have noticed this phenomena. Anyone had similar problems? Any idea where to start the troubleshooting?

Pioneer Carplay in Mk2 Octavia vRS?
Roba10 replied to purdlemack's topic in Audio, Electronics and Security
They specify car make Octavia 2009 - 2012 on that Android player, I have an older 2006 model Octavia, without any steering wheel controls etc. Is the compatibility issue due to CAN bus? Do you know, can I use this one without can bus entirely?
