  1. yes new maybe the way to go! There is a 4k difference between the models on carwow, it was 6k at the dealers. In the long run I may loose out more on the 2016 model as I want to own the car for many years
  2. yeah it's all about the total cost which I need to consider. I never would of considered buying new if it weren't for the FL. But I will be keeping this car for along time. What is a good price for new? 23k to 25k depending on spec?
  3. going to the dealers at the weekend! new maybe the way to go but may have to be on PCP. is PCP a good way to go if you want to own the car?
  4. im considering trading my car, some cash and the rest finance. I want to own the car and I don't like the idea of PCP.
  5. Really not sure what to do! ! Maybe I should just go for it and not think too much. Next year im guessing a year old FL with decent spec etc would be at least 22k+ but this 2016 is nicely under 20k! Im stretching as it is and dont want to spend over 20k. Also will get a better price for my fiesta st now! Big decision!
  6. Cheers for the replys. it's a big decision and no matter what they will both lose value. Some of money will be on 4 year finance so I will have the car for at least 5 years, probly more. I think its a decent deal. The VRS is black which I want and manual which can be hard to find and my preference. Yeah the look on the 2016 is much better and I think looks more definded. Originally I was looking at 2015 but again can be hard to find want you want. I'm 90% certain to get it but im concerned it maybe 'outdated' fairly soon?
  7. Hi all! I'm tempted to go for a deal on a 2016 Octavia VRS petrol 220 in manual. Very nice car in black with a nice spec. Electic heated seats, Sunset Glass, Colour display screen, Black Pack, Full leather, Folding mirrors, 18" black alloys (which I wanted), Wireless phone charger, Bluetooth with WLAN, Front and rear parking sensors, Spave saver etc. Needing a bigger and pratical car for many reasons. I need the extra space sooner rather than later. My only worry is that the facelift is out now. Should I be looking at getting one a year old sometime next year as it will hold better value? Sitting in the car is very similar and not much different. The only mainly being the new updated display screen and the seats (again not much different but an upgrade). I dont like the new front lights or grill compared to the 2016. Defiantly think 2016 is better looking. The facelift being 230bhp again I cant see being a massive difference. A big concern is maybe the 2016 model will go down alot more in value? Any advice would be helpful thanks! Also the car I will be selling towards the deal will go down in value next year and the facelift vrs will more than likely cost more! So money will be saved. I'm seriously think going for the 2016?
  8. Defiantly taking my time patience is needed. You have done well to find a wheel on a 14 plate (if you was looking). The wheel isn't a big issue and not going to change my decision on a car. Yes defiantly goin for the standard 18 inch alloys, look better I think. The interior does look very premium not to fussy on colour but finding a manual petrol with the correct spec and price may take time ... dsg it may have to be!
  9. cheers thats interesting, is the wheel just an extra on13 to 14 models then? that dash looks pretty dam good whats the difference between the sat navs?
  10. Focus st are very nice but seem to be alot about like the fiestas. VRS seems the way to go for me! The black pack, winter pack are a must, alot seem to have them anyway! Sat nav and sound system would be nice but not a must. I like the green! Again don't normally like white but looks good on the Octavia and stands out well! I think all the colours suit the car in a different way which is quite rare!
  11. yeah may be an option! Would like to see one in the metal, may change my mind. Seems to look like a different colour in real life then on pictures! not sure about black pack on black?
  12. nope sorry I think carling made that colour no but honestly sometimes I like it sometimes I don't
  13. cheers for the reply! yeah the size of the vrs is a big plus! There is not many manuals out there. With the spec i want may have to go dsg. The sound system and winter pack would be nice. Yeah the focus st would have a little more power but im guessing the ride would be alot better on the vrs! I do believe the 15 st has updated it's cabin but may be pushing the limit on price! The hunt goes on for a VRS Oh and i would consider a race blue (probs best colour) but having a blue fiesta st would maybe like a change!
  14. Hi new member here! I am after a 2013 - 2015 Octavia VRS. Defiantly goin for petrol as modern diesels are suffering from problems which I have experienced! I do prefer manuals but does automatic suit the car better? Went to Skoda other day and think they look brilliant in the metal! Unfortunately they only had high millage available. Still considering a focus ST but seem to prefer the looks of the VRS and with a young baby feel the VRS would be more suitable. Im just wondering if there are any differences in the years between 13 and 15. I know the 15 have introduced the flat bottomed steering wheel. Are there any other differences? Also any specifications which are a must? Like black pack? Im torn between dark grey and black. Any advice would be appreciated
  15. cheers will give that a go! thanks for the help
