  1. Thank you for your replies have checked brake fluid level which is okay so going to try the switch is it a case of removing the centre console to get to it ?
  2. I jumped into the vrs tonight to be greeted by a solid handbrake light with a continuous beeping sound as if I'd left the handbrake up after fiddling with the lever for 10 minutes I admitted defeat and jumped in the wife's car instead can someone confirm if this a handbrake switch problem please and if so where is it located and is it an easy job ? Thanks in advance
  3. I thought maybe an older engine will just naturally burn a little oil ...turbo has about 140k on it so seals maybe leaking a bit perhaps
  4. What would people say is acceptable oil consumption my vrs is on 205k seems to use 200ml per 1000miles no obvious leaks any suggestions?
  5. Had completely gone can't believe the difference the MAF has made
  6. I have now changed the MAF sensor and am getting 40mpg doing start stop delivery driving round town and 50s on the open road so think all is well engine seems to be a hell of a lot smoother happy with that mpg from a 205k engine despite getting 40mpg round town display says 54.5 mpg shocking how far out that is
  7. So scanned and had codes camshaft position sensor intermittent and mass air flow something.... Have cleared them and will rescan tomorrow to see what appears again
  8. Thanks for the reply I measured it at about 33mpg give or take obviously town driving is not ideal but would expect low 40s as I drive like a grandad
  9. So I use my fabia mainly for delivery driving drive it nice and smooth but trip indicates 38mpg which is awful and I know they over read so probably down at 30ish no engine lights no smoke idles fine hesitates a little at low revs and slight throttle also think I'm a little down on power having it scanned tonight but don't know what I'm looking for thought it might be the MAF so unplugged and if anything it drove a little better but im led to believe this is irrelevant as they run of the map sensor I have replaced the thermostat and have a cts on the way but don't think this is the problem car has 204k have looked inside the egr and that's not caked up at all so need to know where to start before chucking money at it thanks?
  10. Sorry meant to say it does still do it with clutch depressed so don't think it's gearbox related
  11. I have just replaced clutch and it doesn't do it when clutch is depressed so definitely not that And I'm not bothred about an engine light just asking if it would work just pulling the vacuum
  12. Hi I have a 55 plate blt vrs I have 2 questions I want to delete the egr can I do this by just pulling the vacuum on the top of it obviously I know a kit is better but just as a temporary measure ? Also I have a vibration slight knock on idle when the car is warm but it seems to disappear if I put ac on anyone one know what that could be thanks ?
  13. Yeah I did consider a 3 piece set but I think I can hear a faint rumble from the dmf which worries me 203k is very good going after all. I've booked it in for Thursday I'm hoping even if the clutch lasts 3 years thats about 20k miles so hopefully be in a better position to fit something else 🤞
  14. I actually asked if anyone had any experience with these specific clutches 👍 don't throw your toys out mate I took your opinion on board
