Recently noticed a small tear / hole in the drivers seat. Could be a tiny cigarette burn from the previous owner. 1mm-2mm max. Cloth seats. Any suggestions or repair recommendations? Obviously not going to heal itself

I’ve had the tyre repair in aerosol form for too long and I want to get an actual spare wheel. if I get a 16” steel wheel with a 16/55/205 tyre on, will it fit in the boot under the floor or must I get a space saver version? I know what I’d prefer but I need wisdom. Please help!

Currently driving a 2.0 TDI Octavia 3 with standard 16” alloys. I'm happy with the ride comfort etc but I wanted to change the appearance. option 1 is to get current alloys powder coated to matt black option 2 could be to sell the current alloys (excellent condition) and replace with black steel wheels which might almost pay for itself (or at least be cheaper than option 1). I’m sure I’m missing something here so feel free to explain / help many thanks

I would really like this too having had smartlink once before. I was told by main dealer that it was possible, booked it in and then was told that it wasn’t compatible. Mine is a 16plate 2.0 TDI SE. i think it might be v expensive if it is possible (£700ish). very keen to hear other experience and expertise

I’ve been driving a 2.0 TDI for about 9 months, similar commute too. On average 64mpg over the last 3k miles. Previously had a DSG (same size engine) which was 58-59 on average the lower tax on cars up to 2017ish is worth another 7-800 miles or so based on current prices so worth considering too

I quite fancied buying some ready made sun blinds for the rear windows and the back screen for my 16 plate Octavia hatchback Anyone had any good / bad experiences that they can share? I’ve had to return one set already that were marked as 2014 Octavia hatchback but didn’t anywhere near fit! Happy to hear any ideas.

That’s my bad use of terminology. Mine has the torsion beam suspension. I’m interested to heard from anyone who has lowered the suspension / springs etc with a torsion beam in case it turned out well (or terribly). thanks

I’m all for keeping my costs to a minimum so that’s handy to know that they’re cheaper than the alternatives. I didn’t realise that. That Jag though!

Yes I know what you mean about the trend for large wheels and thin tyres. Trade off of aesthetics v comfort is a constant pain! i did have 18” black wheels on my Black Edition and was constantly kerbing them. 19” in the Superb and now I’m back to 16” but the arches are so big that they look undersized. i have considered lowering slightly but the torsion bar rear suspension might not like it and I don’t want to find that out after a few hundred £ or more!

Just wondering if the 205/55/R16 are the only size for this model. The wheels do look a little lost in the space, when I had Saabs they were often 15 or 16” but always looked great. I’m hoping to keep the 16” alloys but somehow create a better appearance. What do I need to consider? All contributions most welcome.

There is no satnav on this unit! This has me wondering what exactly gets updated in terms of the radio / phone? there is one slot for a memory card by the look of it. I’ve added a photo

Thanks for all the input. All of this came up because it wasn’t possible to add an ApplePlay connection to this unit. Consequently I’ve been trying to make the most of the existing set up. although the car was bought as an approved used it did not come with any ŠKODA SD cards and I wondered whether the version indicated on these pics is the most up to date? And also how to update the software? Will I need to get a ŠKODA sd card to do so? sorry, many questions!

My 2016 Octavia SE has pretty poor graphics on the radio. The radio station logo sometimes appears but mostly doesn’t. Is this something I can get updated at the dealer? It’s clearly not very important but it is bugging me. Does anyone know how this is done? Many thanks as always
