  1. Thanks for the replies. Let's hope skoda own up to the shoddy paint work and sort it but I'm not holding my breath. Don't get me started on Ford dealers for customer service. My 2008 St was having engine rebuilds twice a year for 2 years. No explanation as to why the engine kept bending rods, waiting weeks for a courtesy car etc and they had the audacity to try rejecting the warranty claim because they found a non Ford bolt on the exhaust flange! Its why I don't have a ST anymore
  2. After washing the car the other day I noticed rust spots coming from under the paint on the lip just above the number plate. I've just had the local skoda dealer have a look and he took pictures to send to skoda UK. Anyone else had this problem? What are the chances skoda will sort it foc? The dealer thinks it more likely skoda will offer a goodwill gesture of 50%. But after the recent bill of just short of £1000 for a new secondary water pump I could do without another hit to the wallet!
  3. After a trip to skoda £900 for a new secondary water pump Not a happy bunny I'm beginning to wonder why I didn't get a focus st right about now
  4. The wife did 10 mile round trip to the shops yesterday and the temp guage went to max. A speed restriction symbol appeared with an exlamation mark and an exhaust system fault light is now on :( Not a happy bunny
  5. Driving home the other night near the end of a 300 mile trip, doing a steady 70-75mph on the motorway the water temp guage dropped off the scale. It didnt go down slowly it dropped like i switched the engine off. I carried on for a couple if miles to get to the sevices. The oil temp was also showing 60. Switched off the engine and checked the coolant and oil but everything looked ok. Started the car again and the water guage went straight to 90 again but the oil temp still showed 60. Hopped back on the motorway and the oil creeped up to 102. All has been ok since. Any idea's? 63 plate manual vrs 220 with full skoda service history on 55000 miles
  6. Does an induction kit free up a bit more noise? Not really bothered about any possible increase in power but a bit of growl would be nice. I tried opening the vrs up in a tunnel with the window down and it sounds like a 1.6 astra! I was looking at the revo induction kit but its a hell of a lot of money for a foam cone filter with a bit of plastic to 'shield' the heat
  7. New vrs tsi owner here. Love the car but i feel it is a bit too refined. I don't want simulated engine noise, i want the real thing. What are my options? A few years back i had a focus mountune st with a milltek catback. Under normal driving it sounded oem but when the right foot was planted it was loud. I know i'm never gonna get the 5 pot noise back with the vrs but the vrs lacks drama
