  1. Hi all. I had another go at this screen last night after removing the HU and stripping it down. Once you get the screen out, there is a "chrome" bezel around the screen. I removed this carefully with a small electrical screwdriver under the tabs, then using a couple of cut up old credit cards, placed these under the tabs until the bezel could be removed. There was a small amount of dirt? and dust on the screen and on the foam inside the bezel. Carefully cleaning the screen and the foam with isopropanol, bought the screen up like new. Re-fitted the bezel, then installed complete screen in the unit and fully assembled it. Installed back in the car this morning and can happily report the 20 minute journey to work and back home this afternoon, the radio was faultless, with no glitches at all. Will monitor and see how it goes. Steve.
  2. Could you recommend anywhere for a new screen please? Steve.
  3. Hi Rustynuts. I have tried cleaning the screen, I actually stripped down the unit and removed the bezel and screen, cleaned it all with isopropanol alcohol to get shut of any grease, residue, etc, but it is still the same. Due to it behaving slightly better in the heat (30 degrees plus), would it do any harm to strip it down again and place the unit (minus the screen in a hot oven (150 degrees) for an hour or so to see if it cures anything? Steve.
  4. Hi all. Maybe someone with knowledge of these units can help me out please. We have a 2016 (manufactured Sept 2015) Yeti Se L, it has the Bolero unit fitted. As far as I can tell it is a Bolero, no Satnav, no cd unit just an SD card slot for MP3's and rear parking sensor display. For the last month it has been acting up, bleeping with the station icons flashing, changing stations on its own, going into various menus, accessing sub menus, and generally just being a nuisance. I have turned off the screen bleep whilst I can before it starts to act up and is just about tolerable. If it throw's a real wobbler, I turn it off and back on then it starts again. I thought it might have had something trapped between the bezel and the screen, so I stripped the unit down cleaned everything and put it back together, but it is still the same. One thing to note later in the day, when driving back from work especially with this hot weather, it seems not to play up as much. I don't want to go down the android route as I am quite happy with the functions of the unit as it is when working correctly. Is this unit repairable? The reason is that when I bought the Yeti nearly two years ago, I paid to have the Apple car play installed on it and use it quite often. I have thought about buying a second hand unit. Would I be able to scan all the details of my existing unit with VCDS and transfer it to the second hand unit to avoid the component protection, or is it not as simple as that? Also second hand units are as rare as hens teeth, especially the later units such as ours. Hope someone can advise or help. Steve.
