  1. I know there are various reasons for juddering in these. Judder is under load. It felt like drivetrain, but suspension has all been checked. It seems to be something to do with turbo/wastegate? Could it be injectors? Spark plugs have been changed for good ones recently.
  2. Yellow light. Is due service soon.
  3. Monte 1.2 tsi has flashed an oil light. I’ll check it when cold. What oil to top up with if it needs a bit?
  4. Let this be a lesson to always play with taking your wheels off at home. When we got the 2011 Monte Carlo I checked the spare wheel and jack and everything seemed in order. Not had a puncture in decades. Had a puncture last night at 3 am with all the pot holes around the A34 and could I work out in the dark what was going on with the “big” oversized wheel nuts......no I could not! I assumed I had an adaptor missing as the lock nut one was there, but where the lock nut? Finally worked out what the plastic pliers were for, popped them off and got it sorted out after a lot of head scratching. I am used to my nuts being out in the open!
  5. This is actually my wife's car which she likes because it is red with a black roof! I actually don't find the suspension too bad currently and have had quite a lot of fun in it along country roads today. I've never reached a fuel cut....my scooby will cut fuel if you go really silly with the revs?? I hear some standard Montes come off rolling road with figures quite a bit above 110?? THe 99 ron fuel makes such a difference. As soon as you add a passenger though the car feels sluggish.
  6. I think the monte is around 110 as standard so I suppose getting it up to 130 with some torque may be worth it.
  7. I have a more general question about mapping. Had the 2011 Monte 1.2 tsi for a few months. I run it only on Tesco 99 or Vpower and with just me in the car it now actually feels quite lively - pulls well. I'm not new to mapping as I have had imprezas for 15 years. I don't want to spend circa £300 on the Monte for just a little bit more sparkle and slightly higher insurance. If it is going to be a night and day change with noticeable perk then I will go for it.
  8. Our Fabia has very sticky rear drums. Stickiest of any car I have owned. Left it for a couple of weeks and it took some hammer blows to drums via a block of wood to unstick. Won’t leave it now for more than a couple of days with handbrake on. Particularly in wet weather.
  9. Intake would be more than my requirements! In terms of compatibility and as I haven’t seen one, is the VRS airbox same or different to 1.2 tsi?
  10. Yep I mean is there any reason not use one on the fabia, is a different manufacturer more suitable? People don’t seem to mention green filters whereas commonplace with Subarus.
  11. Anyone use green panel filter. Want to change it on 1.2 tsi before a remap. I already have the cleaning kit for the green as opposed to other brands such as K&N or piper cross.
  12. Just have to wait for Dan from Adrian Flux to turn up now I have mentioned insurance!
  13. I run it on vpower or Tesco 99 as it runs so much better. Sometimes it feels almost nearly quick! May as well wait for warranty and insurance to be up in June next year. I don’t think AA insurance have a good record on reasonable premiums for adding a basic remap. Only done 25k miles.
  14. Yes remap is on the cards when warranty is up. Just wondering as Volkswagen have form for tricky ECUs!
