  1. @petrolbloke Already have the Audi s5 2012 v8 engine. Kinda wanted to start a new project on the Octavia. To be honest I will never find an engine of the 1.8T in here, I order most of the parts online from Europe. That's why I wanted to modify the current engine other that shipping the whole engine (it has its risks of being broken, has issues.... etc). Moreover, is boosting the 1.8T to 280+ HP true?
  2. Yes. it is 5 speed gearbox and its non turbo 116 hp. The 1.8 liter actually comes in 2 engines, one of them is turbo charged which produce 180hp.
  3. Hi Warrior193, The car is 144,649 miles. Couple of months ago, I have replaced all worn out parts in the engine component. I had a bit of oil leakage, but its running like new now and no other issues since then.
  4. I have Octavia ML1 2002 which is 2.0 non turbo. I am planning to fit the vrs turbo kit under the hood. I do believe it is providing around 180 hp and its not what I need, as I am looking for minimum 250hp. I have been told that the stock turbo of the vrs could be boosted to provide 300hp. Is it true? Fitting a manufacturer turbo would be the best option for me as it has been advised. Or do I just need to fit in a aftermarket turbo charge? Is there any that fits under the hood without the headache of lots of modifications?
  5. Hi, I have decided to start modifying my Skoda Octavia Mk1 U engine (like adding turbo...) but really don't know where to start. It's the APK 2.0 petrol engine type on stock. Your help will be great.
  6. actually unplugging it removes the engine hesitation while accelerating, But still stalls as mentioned the symptoms on topic. Will do check the wiring.
  7. I actually have the car checked with a computer and te error code related to MAF was P0102: Mass Or Volume Air Flow Circ :low input this is the last one I tried. Not sure what its type. https://en.ridex.eu/product/8053948
  8. I have checked that car for stalling while driving. Engine goes off when I put the gear on Neutral or when I press the clutch down for like 3 seconds. When the car is on a gear, it never cut off. I have suspected the MAF and tried like 5 of them, all 5 makes the car lacks power when accelerating or pushing the accelerator pedal real quick. its like hesitating and shaking. When I unplug the MAF sensor, it works normally, except for the symptoms mentioned above. I really dont know whats happing (could all the tested MAFs be broken? or there is something else could cause a new working MAF to make the car hesitate while accelerating?). I have also replaced the Air filter, just in case. Any advice!!!
  9. @DeanVRS20VT @andy68 A question off the topic. What is the switch behind the clutch pedal for? My car crank and starts without the need to press the pedal. Its Manual transmission, too.
  10. @DeanVRS20VT I see. Any advice on how to fix it?
  11. I am facing a strange noise when starting the engine lately. And it seems to appear when ever the car cools down. Check attached video. 20201205_072612_1_1.mp4
  12. Did you get the issue solved. I currently have the same issue.
  13. This actually worked. It shifts normally now. Many thanks sir
  14. I have Octavia 2001 2.0 it's been a while since I have any issues with it. A month ago 1st gear was really hard to shift and everyday pass it gets worst until it refuses to shift to 1st gear at all. It's like the 1st gear spot is not there anymore and when I try to force it, it shift to 3rd gear. Lately, I found a work around. So when I push down the gear stick a bit (feels like shifting reverse), it shift normally and softly to the first gear without any issues!!! And when I want to shift reverse I will have to push down the stick a bit harder (sometimes it take couble of tries to get it right). I have tried shifting from under the hood and it works normally. Any ideas on what could cause this to happen? Some mechanics asked me to change the oil, others were like (The car is old you need a gearbox !!!!)
  15. I was facing this problem couple of months before. I have been told its the fuel pump, but I refused to change it as I was able to start the car by jump-start after stalling. I end up changing the crank shaft sensor and it is working really fine until now. Its been like 4-6 months since I changed it.
  16. I have got the car fixed by replacing the crankshaft Sensor. Since then, it's working fine.
  17. Edite for the post, Forgot to mention a couple of things: I started to get the immobilise light before the car start stalling, but now I get the light a lot lately (like 85% everytime I want to start the car). So all I have to do is switch off then back on for the light (warning) to disappear and be able to start the car. But I don't get the immobilise light when the car stalls or shut-off. When I force start the car when it's about to stall at low speed or trying to push-start it, I get the oil warning light and the car stalls (this happened to me sometimes). The car looks like to give me more driving time at cold weather. for example: at the morning (weather degree between 17 - 19 C)I can drive for more than 11 km (in distance (depends on weather)) then it stalls, but I can fire the car up after less than 5 minutes. But afternoon(as its hot 25 - 28 C), it drives me less than 9 or 10 km (in distance) and I won't be able to fire it up unless after 10 minutes of wait at-less.
  18. @KenONeill - well i have two relays that over-heat which are: 1- Relay No - 18 (191-937-503) 2- Relay No - 167 (191 906 383 C) I am not sure if one of these are related to fuel pump as I couldn't find a way to figure out. I am assuming that the fuel pump relay fail, but the only way to start the car without waiting for 5 - 30 minutes after stalling, is to push-start. Question: would a failed fuel pump relay allow the car to start by push-start? Note: as I mentioned at the post, the car stalls when I am driving at speed like 40+ km, but I can accelerate to run the engine again. could this happen with a bad relay?
  19. As Skoda parts are really hard to find in here, I just got my fuel filter replaced since yesterday. There is difference in acceleration, but the engine still stalls. Any other suggestions?
  20. I have Skoda Octavia 2001 2.0 petrol. I would like to know more about a relay that is overheating after driving for 2+ km (in distance). Unlike the other relays, it feels really hot when I touch it. Relay number 18 (gray) part number v23134-j52-x228 Is it supposed to overheat, and what is this relay exactly for??
  21. Have you got to solve your problem? And I would like to know the fuel pump relay number as I couldn't find a map to lead me to it. I have the same problem on my car but I hear clicking when the car stalls.
  22. @KenONeill - Thank you for your response. I will make sure to check the fuel filter or get it replaced. I want to add more info. about the issue: 1) The car stalls only at hot weather (as I noticed), as the past three days were raining and the weather were cool, the car did not stall at all. 2) When the car stalls or about to stall, I hear clicking noise from the relay box under the dash. I checked the relays by just touching and found one of them was too hot compared to the others (which were kida cool).
  23. I own Skoda octavia 2001 2.0. since last month, engine keeps stalling: 1) while driving (for 10km or sometimes for 1 - 2 km in distance). 2) or keeping the car idle for 20 - 35 minutes. and when it stalls, It cranks but does not fireup. unless, waiting for 10 - 15 minutes. special cases: 1) when I am driving (over 60km in speed), I feel like the engine is holding back and loosing power. As soon as I accelerate, it powers back (or lets say looks like gaining power to run again) and runs smoothly. This happenes, in couple of seconds (like 1 - 2 seconds.). If I don't accelerate, engine goes off. 2) sometime I drive for 4 hours without having this issue (this is rare other than having the engine stalling twice everyday). Things I have done so far: 1) I have changed the battery since it was kinda old. 2) got the car scanned (no issues or fault were found). 3) checked if the car still runs while the battery is unplugged (checking if the problem from the alternator). This happens since I changed the engine oil ( 20w50 ).
