  1. I had the same issue with my dealer telling me they were not included so I rang Skoda. These ARE standard equipment on the 245 both front and rear sensors.
  2. quick question. I want a spare alloy so I can get out of trouble and have a spare for detailing. Does anyone know if the black 19" Xtreme that is an option for the 230 is the same wheel fitted as standard on the 245? Part number (5E0601025BDJX2 )
  3. I have had this problem myself. The 245 only comes with the sim slot if you order the Premium Wifi. If you order the Columbus and your dealer tells you that it comes with a sim slot then he is mistaken and you will end up like me with a 4G wifi hub in your boot.
  4. I haven't even mentioned the call I got from the dealer after they placed the order for the car to tell me that unfortunately they could not spec the front parking sensors because the "Computer would not let them" (this was also an option on Carwow) so he would look into an aftermarket option. I asked him to confirm with Skoda which he didn't do so I went online, saw it was in the standard spec and then phones Skoda to confirm. I then email the dealer to tell him it was standard. :-S Amazing I got a car at all.... I am a tech geek for a living and did a lot of research, but in hindsight I should have done more... Buyer beware....
  5. To be fair to me I had a list as long as my arm of options that Carwow and the configurator did not agree on. I did spot it and asked the dealer and he told me that it came with the Columbus. I also asked the dealer for us to spec the car on the Skoda configurator and give me the Carwow discount but "his manager said that can't be don" so we ended up with a scrap of paper taking this off and adding that on to come up with the cost of the car. I'm a still gobsmacked that this is how you need to order a car in 2017. I would have thought they'd have a decent Computer system with this stuff in it. Still I love the car and the Wifi dongle is an OK substitute but I'll continue with my complaint and see what happens.
  6. That's interesting. Both the dealer and Skoda customer service have told be it can't be retro fitted. My guess is that its not just the unit in the glove box but a phone aerial??? I have raised a comp[lain with Skoda, I'll see what happens.
  7. Definitely the biggest criticism of a really good car, 4WD would make this incredible. Its good off the line but you have to get rolling before you feed the power in.
  8. Yes, thanks, this is what I have done, although it would be good it I could get the boot 12v socket to go off when the ignition is off :-S
  9. The beast has arrived. Picked it up on Tuesday and I am loving it. All great except for a misunderstanding about the capability of the Columbus Nav system. I got the upgraded Columbus system because I wanted the built in Sim slot so I could have a static wifi connection in the car (mainly so my daughter could use the data and save hers ;-) ) and also so the google earth and Skoda connect worked without me having to disconnect from Carplay and set my phone to wifi hotspot. However I got the Columbus Nav but no sim slot. Talking to my useless dealer (who also thought initially I would have the sim slot) he is now telling me that I don't have it because I didn't also select the premium wifi option. He also said this could not be retro fitted Grr. Any thoughts? R.
  10. Hi. I have just taken delivery of a new Octavia 245 and I’m loving it. I order s the Columbus nav System for a load moe money and thought this came with the sim slot. Apparently this is only is you also select the premium wifi option as well (another £350) but my dealer didn’t know this and we both thought it would be included. I have told him to sort it out but he says it is impossible to retro fit the s capable unit. Is this true? Seems odd to me. Does anyone know or can you give me some advice on how to escalate cheers. Rob.
  11. I have older kids, but will mostly be driving the car on my own. Coming from a Land Rover so it will be a small car compared ;-)
  12. This is getting old now. Week 15 and still counting...... Ordered on the 30 June, built in BW38 and now waiting for my crappy dealer to tell me what's going on. What have your dealers been like at keeping you informed? Mine is shocking! Still hopeful of a delivery soon....
  13. It's build week 38 and finally, after waiting since June 30, my car is being built. Still very little info from my dealer, but have been in contact with Skoda support online and they are very helpful. Great to see the pics and discussion on how it drives. Let's hope it's delivered quickly! R.
  14. Plus the 19" wheels, 7 speed DSG if you opted for it and crucially the VAQ front dif from the Leon Cupra and Golf performance pack. That's why I opted for the 245.
  15. Good luck to both of you. Looking forward to seeing the pictures!
