  1. I live halfway up one of the designated climbs on the Tour de France "Cote de Greet land " near junc 24 M62 climb from 300 ft to just short of 1000 ft. Last winter was disappointing no snow but previous year loads of snow and Yorkie was great when went out playing up on the tops. The Goodyear GW3s are excellent and a much better ride than the 17 inch Pirellis which have become really noisy and bumpy now they are down to 3/4mm. Cheers Peter.
  2. Think the non auto folding mirrors when car locked/unlocked may relate to problems when car heavily frosted. Gather mirrors bust on some BMWs when car covered in bottle ice. Cheers Peter
  3. Yorkie is 3 in mid Oct and we have decided to keep him at least 2 more years as he has only done 20000 miles and subject to big depreciation. D M Keith the masters of all things Skoda in Yorkshire (in my opinion an unhealthy situation) tell me I can have a 2 year extended Skoda? warranty for £599.99 or £744.99 inc breakdown but wiring and electrical is not included in the warranty!!!!! Also due for MOT which I think perhaps I should get done independently from a dealer before current warranty runs out in case any warranty issues are flagged up so I can get them sorted. Any thoughts or advice would be most welcome. Cheers Peter.
  4. A whole country split down the middle and falling out with long time friends, the losers bitter especially if its the chippy nats the rest of Britain in the main hoping as I do that we stay together but if there is a divorce probably having nowt to do with Scotland its products, services, holidays or midges. If they don't want to be with us why should we support them?Let's stay together for the good of us all as separation will have bad consequence for all Brits. For heavens sake vote NO!!
  5. Hi Johann et al Hope you are all well. Been today to the D M Keith's Huddersfield VIP event (Yorkshire Skoda Overlords with a lack of competition je pence!). Enquired to trade Yorkie in (He will be 3 at the end of October and as the sales bloke said immaculate) for a same spec 170 Dsg new Elegance, and with only 19000 miles on the clock he's only worth £14000 with a cheque for £13000 to complete the deal! Nuf said I prefer the old look, best car I have owned and may consider a two year warranty extension for just over £600 which I understand is now a Skoda warranty? Would have more money than sense to trade Yorkie in I think, love him to bits. Cheers Peter.
  6. Hi Andrew Hope you and yours are well. Amazing weekend watching the tour on the box on Saturday going through the Dales and spotting all the places we have visited. Wharfedale ,Wensleydale and Swaledale looked stunning as usual. Is this Man of Kent now an adopted Yorkshireman! Sunday it was manic here, people swarming all over the hills like scenes from Zulu! Counted flocks of Skodas and probably 20+ Yetis some with adaptation, one in particular with a platform on the back! Tried to take a photo but failed, sorry folks. The whole weekend made me even prouder than ever to be Yorkshire born and bred, the only downside is as my mate said every b-g-er will want to come here. What an advert for our county and it just goes to show we can organise things up here and the world does not revolve around those darn sarf in the melting pot around London!!! Today it all looked a bit flat but great to see another great turnout on the 3rd stage through Boss Fox country(very different but very nice from the air) and then onto Borisland where of course it rained. Good to be back posting again after a enforced long layoff. Regards to Graham and Richard if you are online. Bring back Bobdog Cheers Peter
  7. Big day on Sunday when the TdF comes within 50m of Chez Nous.Around 2.15pm Sat and Sunday will show why this is Gods own County and a stunning background for this great event. Will no doubt be loads of Skodas and will try and count any snow monsters. Nearby pub has ordered 2000 pork pies from local farm shop. We know how to enjoy ourselves in Yorkshire.
  8. Ey up Brimma and TP must say I agree, what's up with different? Got a Brother in law just new octavia 4x4 v nice massive wagon Loads of character Yeti mk 1 But new one looks just like part of the same team a bit boring but still a monster underneath and will bemuch loved but perhaps not attract the same number of questions from passers by.170 dsg a detfinate plus Still getting used to this nexus 10 jobby but can recommend cheers peter
  9. Hope you have got some winter wheels. Yorkie slid all over the shop on his summer zero rossos in only a couple of inches. Last year I went out playing in the snow and it was great up on the moors as long as we kept out of the deep stuff and the drivers of two land rovers (one stuck!) were amazed Cheers :cocktail: Peter
  10. Hi GrahamMe and our lass would be up for it subject to availability Not 6th July as le tour de Yorkshire and France goes up the hill past our shoebox. Cheers Peter

  12. Hi Graham Good to hear Bob and Betty are still zooming round the lanes and broads of Norfolk. Thanks for making contact with the old lad!! Actually he is a bit younger than me Cheers Peter SORRY NO BEER SENT FROM MY NEXUS
  13. Yorkie just had his second birthday and continues to make driving a pleasure!! Your choice will not be the most economical but the combination with DSG makes for an excellent driving experience. Ordered mine 7th Feb 2011 picked up 20th Oct 2011 but well worth the wait. See if you can get some all season tyres fitted from new as last year with my winters on we had great fun up on the tops in the snow, my standard tyres are great in warmer but poor in snow even with 4wd Cheers  Peter
  14. Old post and pics but now on for 3rd winter yersterday. Tyres still hardly worn reckon they have only done around 6000 miles. Most miege in summer but great if you want to go out playing in snow!! Cheers Peter
