Hi Folks Looking for a wee bit of advice. Been racking my brains while waiting for local dealer to get car booked into check. I am planning on getting cruise control retro fitted but I am aware that it is a 50/50 that it can be done due to my15 changes. I have found that it can only be retrofitted to vehicles fitted with a Kostal switch which I believe to be the steering wheel control switch that is behind the steering wheel. I have the 3 spoke wheel with no multi function buttons on it. I have been looking for a website that can check parts by vin. The only ones that I can find is realoem but it says my vin is not recogised. It has part numbers for Kostal switches and Valeo switches which i am guessing is the ones that arent compatible. Has anyone had any success on getting cruise control retro fitted to vehicles newer than 64 plates? Or have another website that I has parts by vin? Beginning to wish I didnt listen to the dealer saying that it could be retrofitted as they failed to notice that the car needed to have a Kostal switch and just waited out for a SEL model which would have saved a whole lot of hassle haha Thanks Sleeper17

I know there is other topics covering this but they all seem to be before MY16. I have recently got myself a 2016 model Octavia SE however I thought I wouldnt miss the old steering wheel controls over the years. But how wrong have i been. Maybe if the old buttons were on the stereo it woudnt be so bad. However I am wondering if the old problem of depending on module fitted lowline midline etc still a problem on the newer cars that come with the 3 spoke steering wheel? Is it now possible to fit the control buttons and get it coded and away you go? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Joe
