  1. Hi All, Although my wifes third brake light is still working, we've noticed part of the red covering has cracked away from the seal and hence the unit is not sealed anymore. They light works well but obviously not sealed at all. I was thinking of maybe getting some black sugru or something like that to seal the unit back up, but just wondering if anyone had any experience with this, is it a common problem to have. Any solutions?
  2. Just to let those who commented aware this issue has now been fixed. Took the rubber boot lip thing off, then had to take off the door card as there was not enough room to play with. In doing so I accidentally broke the wing mirror switch (it was still plugged in and yanked too hard, pulled the switch apart, oops). Turned out there were a total of 6 wires completely disconnected, the main power wire, then I assume the other wires related to the the different modes of pulling your window down/up. Soldered these back together and used shrink wire wrap, but had to crimp the larger power wire together. This fixed both the drivers side window and the passengers side, so I assume they link up somehow.
  3. Hi All, I know this is a very common problem on here so apologies for making another thread about it. So, the drivers side window on my wife's Skoda Fabia estate MkII stopped working completely, then the next day the drivers side stopped working as well. Found out the drivers side works now and again, and when it does it's fine, but only works intermittently. I started to go through all the common fault fuses, cleaning switch connector... then I had a look at the drivers side wiring loom through the rubber boot and there was my problem. I'm not sure if all of the wires are meant to be connected up? There were a number of smaller wires not connected but didn't look like they had broken off, but there was 1 larger black one definitely sheered off. Windows is the only thing not working on that side of the car. Could this be causing the problem on the passenger side as well or would that be a separate issue, possibly the same thing on the drivers side? From here what is the best course of action, taking out the wiring loom, repairing and refitting? Or is buying a whole new loom better? Thanks all for your time.
