  1. Hi, no haven't bought one yet. I heard it voids the engine warranty so I'm just going to wait.
  2. Maybe but it sounds quite high up and is definitely inside. Does anyone know where to start with taking the dash apart? Id rather fix it myself so I know what to do if it comes back
  3. If you open the driver side door you can remover the rubber seal and the semi-circle of plastic on the end of the dash board, no tools needed just pull it apart and take a look
  4. My monte carlo has a fairly loud buzzing coming from behind the wheel/dash Used to be random, now it does it constantly on deccelaration and evertime i put the clutch in to change gear. Anyone else have this?
  5. Ok thanks for the help! I was looking it to getting a set of Bola rims most of theirs are 8j and wasnt sure if they would fit. Problem is i have now added about 10 more possible choices to the list! haha Thanks!
  6. Nice! Did you keep the offset the same? I stuck my fingers behind my front tyre and was tight with the stock 16x7j Also do they stick out much? Thanks
  7. I see what you are saying, however i was just looking on another forum and they were talking about a very similar topic, canards on the road. One of them had spoken to an MOT tester about them. Their conclusion was that if they are low on the car and the edge doesnt stick straight out (as though i didnt bend the aluminium at all) They shouldnt be a problem And i think that canards would be even worse for hitting a pedestrian, what with being right on the front edge of the bumper https://www.torquecars.com/forums/threads/canards-are-they-road-legal.21528/
  8. Thanks chaps! I will declare them, but now that they are painted up they arent that obvious to the unsuspecting eye. Also i dont see why they would be illegal, cars like the civic type R have this kind of thing as standard, just a little different. And they dont stick out past the wheels so i cant see there being an issue. Will be fitting them on this weekend once the paint is set, I will post some more picture when im done! Ive also just recieved some Vogtland lowering springs from demon tweeks, 40mm front and back. Will be fitting them myself with a friend in the near future. I cant wait!!
  9. Whats crackin homies! So i was looking around on the internet for some front bumper winglets and decided to make my own for next to nothing out of scrap alluminium from work and I need to buy some paint to finish them off but it was a much better option than spending upwards of £40 on something that wouldnt really fit. Just thought i'd upload a couple of pictures to hear your oppinions.
  10. Looks good! Could you show a close up of the cut out For the exhaust? Cheers
  11. Just incase anyone was wondering, i used a product called CT1. Had loads at work and they also make a non aggressive solvent degreaser to remove it. Just used a few blobs of clear CT1 and some masking tape to hold it all down while it cured. Worked great! Ill let you know if it destroys my car when i remove them in future Ha!!
  12. So I bought these carbon fibre door handle cover about a month ago from super skoda and finally got round to fitting them. Turns out the supplied tape isnt too great and they were far too easy to remove, one was almost falling off on it own... so I have removed them while I search for a better way of fixing them. Current thoughts are either sillicone or a non sillicone based alternative, body trim tape (dont really trust the tape) or some small stainless steel dome head allen bolts/self tappers on the underside. Has anyone got any other ideas? Some guys at work think that sillicone might be too strong and damage the paint on removal and would also be a pain to remove residual sillicone from the paintwork
  13. You will also need a washer like in the second image
  14. There was no guide, it can be done with out help just make sure everything you need is within reach once you start undoing bolts. Once you have them on you will notice a bit of a gap under the front of the brackets, i had a bit of 3 or 4mm 3M foam that i cut and put in it to stop paint rubbing. Have fun!
  15. got myself a private reg! I could find my initials so i went with 'Nate Dead On Arrival' just for the hell of it... And it might have a bit of resale value in the future unlike my initials
  16. I think im going to get the friedrich motorsport exhaust, they are on ebay and arent too expensive, you also get to choose the end tip. And the pipe comes out a little more to the left so it doesnt come through on the rib of the diffuser.
  17. I did a bit of looking around on some other sites and were listed as a 63.3mm bore for 5x100 PCD and also received an email from another shop confirming this. Thanks for the help!
  18. ahhh I didnt even think about that. but thats what it says here.. http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/basket ill do some digging to find out what it would be for the 5x100 pcd
  19. im thinking about upgrading my wheels to ATS street rallye in black all measurements are spot on stoke wheels are 7jx16 with a 5x100 bolt pattern, a 46mm offset and a center bore of 57.1mm the new wheels are 7x17, 5x100 and 45mm offset. however! the center bore size is 'up to 110mm' i cant find a spacer that is 57.1 to 110, but i have found a spacer that is 57.7 to 67.1 and another 67.1 to 110. would it be safe to fit the two spacers together to get the required size?
  20. @LemtoThanks! from what ive read they are an MOT failure if the wipers go over it however its very easy to just cut your wipers down or buy shorter ones so they clear it. as ive still got 2 years until i need an MOT i did it anyway and i will worry about it later... or when i get pulled over unless you know of a more lenient MOT tester which wont fail you for something so insignificant
  21. Ahh! Ok ive been looking at aftermarket rims and was thinking about going a bit wider, 7.5 or maybe 8s but keeping the offset the same but then its more expensive as i could just get 7s and reduce the offset but a small amount like 6mm and still have the same look. And that way i would only need spacers on the back There are far too many options and i cant decide what to do! Also, did your wheels move in a little when you lowered your car?
  22. I know this doesnt count as a true mod but i found this decal on ebay and slapped it on my sunstrip. I like it ALOT!
