  1. Thanks - at the moment, I am only taking the bike short distances to different place in and around my region. I was thinking of a tailgate carrier but as per my OP, I have heard multiple people say either you can or cannot attach a universal 'cheaper' one to the hatch. Does anyone else have any ideas on this?
  2. Hi all, long time reader, first time poster as a Karoq owner. I've recently become more fond of cycling and rather than slinging my bike into the boot of my car, I was wondering what my other options are without breaking the bank. I have done some research and some state that the Karoq cannot support the 'off the rack' universal hatch-back style bike rack - something to do with the structure of the hatch? I was told I have to get the Skoda cross bars and the Skoda bike holders (meaning I would be spending in excess of £300....no thanks). I was hoping someone on here might be able to help? (I did a quick search for a thread someone else might have already put in this section but could not find one so sorry if I am repeating something someone has already asked!)
  3. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to turn it off. It hasn't caused me any issues. It has beeped once or twice but nothing has kicked in as I usually am on the brakes when it beeps anyway.
  4. Hi all - hoping you could help me out with a query I have regarding the query on the front bumper of the Mk3 Fabia. I understand it is a proximity sensor that sets off an alarm if I am approaching something a little bit quickly - but I have never 'let it' set on auto brakes. I guess my question is - does it even engage auto brakes to prevent you rear-ending someone (for example)? I guess I am looking for piece of mind here
  5. @Damo That wrap looks amazing! I love the shiny finish. Something to consider....
  6. Personally I am not going to do anything to mine apart from maybe spraying the brake calipers. The car is on PCP so I want/need to retain the value on it for when it comes to trade in time in 2 1/2 years time.
  7. I already am impressed. I was impressed the moment I sampled one down a twisty A road just outside of Milton Keynes when I took one for a test drive. I had to buy one there and then. It is a superb little car and yes - if there were no police and it was legal, I would take mine to those speeds and I would feel safe doing it as it is a solid car.
  8. End of the day, I get what I need. 50+MPG on the motorway, 0-60 in less than 10s, a great gearbox, a great ICE system and good looking car that is comfortable. Less than £45 to fill up and less than £350 to insure. Nimble round roundabout (essential for Milton Keynes living). I guess everyone buys to suit their requirements. Luckily for me the Fabia MC ticked all my boxes. And you're right, price-wise you cannot get more car for less money unless you buy a used one.
  9. Stop using spotify and use the superior Google Music - that works great! Nice car BTW
  10. If this is going to turn into a comparison of "My car is faster than your car" on a relatively incomparable level then I am out - I thought we were having a proper conversation.
  11. 0-60 in less than 10 seconds is respectful... I've given bigger cars a run for their money on the pullaway. It is funny as everyone underestimates it...Even my passengers
  12. It was the dealers' basic courtesy car so I guess it was the entry level one (no disrespect to the brand etc. but wow the difference is noticeable). It was a '66 plate mk3. I love my Monte Carlo. The 'standard package' is generous compared to other brands and the power the little 1.2 DSG gives is actually quite amazing. I got one of the last 1.2's on a '17 plate. I hear the 1.0's have been tuned to put out the same power - if that's the case it should be just as capable. My wife likes my Monte Carlo so much she has put it on her list of choices for her next company car.
  13. When test driving the regular Fabia mk3 and then a Monte Carlo, the difference was quite drastic in quality (I thought). As for road noise, hadn't noticed (riding on the 17" rims). I will admit the interior is rather simple but I guess it is down to how crowded you like your car interiors. If you want cramped and crowded - buy a Seat Ibiza. If you want a functional and 'tidy' interior, Skoda every time.
  14. I love the aggressive sound - especially when you get the DSG into sport mode and end up red lining every gear - it is immense. Your instinct tells you it shouldn't do that but the design of engine allows it to before the gear changes so why not?
  15. It is an interesting thought about the key fob timeout. The MK dealership is a Lancaster Skoda. Part of the Jardine Gardens group. In Kingston in MK
  16. The results are in... They took the car in for the day, spent 4 hours checking the whole alarm system and hooked it up to their systems. It had registered that the alarm had been set off and that the source was from the cabin sensors. They checked the sensors, they were fine however from factory, they had been set at 'High sensitivity' as default. So they have turned this down and retested the alarm. 5 out of 5 times of testing, they managed to set the alarm off and (key item) manage to disarm it using the keyfob. All in all - nothing is of an issue as such. So they picked me up, took me back to my car and away I went. Plus they valet'd the car too - which was a nice touch (it needed it).
  17. I don't think that sounds right at all. I would get that seen to. Sounds like it would need calibrating. As for mine, this would not relate to my issue.
  18. I would call them but with the car going into the garage tomorrow, I'll see how it goes. I'll keep you posted.
  19. I do hope it is not considered as a 'normal' thing to happen. Guess I will find out for certain on Thursday
  20. All the more reason for me to get the car in to the dealers. Booked for Thursday. They know me well already due to a small issue I had on the date of pick up so they do not want to upset me again
  21. The rain was absolutely pouring down hard. Vibration-wise, I shouldn't have thought so. As for why it wouldn't turn off at the remote, that is a puzzler. My neighbour (an Audi salesman) reckoned that was a oddity. My wife's old A3 disarms the alarm with the remote. Could just have been a 1 off but I would sooner get it to the dealers to check. The guy on the phone reckons it will be in the car log if there is a fault that caused it. Either way - it has not happened again (touch wood).
  22. Just got it booked in for Thursday. The guy on the phone reckoned it might be the sensitivity of the motion sensors.
  23. I have a 2017 Fabia which I bought literally a month a go. The other night after a short drive from my 'rents to my place in the pouring rain, I got home, running to the front door did the double click lock on the remote and went in. Shortly afterward, the alarm started going off. Now here is the weird thing, neither of my remote keys would stop and disarm the alarm. The car remained locked with the alarm going off. I had to get my key in the little hole under the door handle and pop off the key slot cover to unlock the door, get in and then put the key in the ignition and turn it on before the alarm then disarmed. Is this normal? My old Audi used to disarm from the remote. Have I got a defect in the disarm system or is it configured to just be annoyingly awkward to disarm? Do I need to go back to the dealership to get something reconfigured? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
