  1. I always referred paradise by the dashboard light myself
  2. Fabdavrav, cheers, wanted to be sure it wasn't something important! TMB, I've had a look at your pictures on the other thread and it looks to me the bulkhead fitting has popped off, cars hot at the moment and I've got 6 episodes of Game of Thrones to get in so I'll have another look in the morning. Good idea with the vacuum tube as well, I'll get some heatshrink and do a similar job I think, really good idea. I've been sloppy with screenwash recently too, have to keep that in mind. Many thanks for the help and responses, I'll let everyone know how it goes!
  3. Possibly my favourite part of the car, I pick cassettes up cheap at carboots and charity shops and hope they work, Queens Greatest Hits for 20p!
  4. Right, hi guys, Completely new to cars, so you'll have to forgive me if I ask anything ridiculous, every days a school day. I've had my Fabia Mk1 in bits today trying to find why the rear washer doesn't spray, I've only ever tried it driving and could hear the pump going, the wiper pivots but theres no wash. On the drive today I saw a puddle form under the bonnet so knew the pump works but the hose had come off. Got all the bumper off and there on the pump, the hose adaptors come off. I tried the wash again but now theres a leak further under the bonnet, this was coming from further along the hose where it looks like it's been cut and a connector used to join it, I'm thinking the hose has split and been cut and connected as an easy fix. Looking down into the bonnet, thats the link in my hand. It's located underneath the windshield water run off vents, that's the air filter housing in the top right, to give you an idea where it is. And from underneath, dead central in the photo. If someone could have a look where this should lead, where it goes for example, and if it's clipped to the car in the bonnet anywhere, or what general path is takes, I can look for that in my motor and just find and reconnect it. I couldn't see any hoses or pipes of the same diameter hanging around in there so I'm thinking it might have fallen into the bodywork of the car somewhere. While I'm at it, I also found these two loose ends I couldn't understand, This was a length of thick rubber hosing, I thought maybe an overflow drain pipe for the coolant, but wanted to be sure it shouldn't be plugged in somewhere. That's the coolant reservoir on the right. And this, which in hindsight I guess is the coolant drain tap, but better safe than sorry. Thanks for your time, Duncan
  5. Hi, Figured I'd do a first post before heading off to find some answers for a few questions I've got, I recently picked up a 2003 Skoda Fabia 1.4mpi, I've had her for nearly two weeks now and it's an incredible car. Pulls out all the stops, cassette player, sunroof, picks up nice and quick for overtaking, really can't grumble, the fuel economy isn't great, I got 35mpg on my first full tank, but I had read they were like that. Has a few problems, the door seals leak, locking system doesn't work and the rear-window wiper doesn't wash, but nothing I'm sure I can't handle myself. Overall, really happy with the motor and look forward to contributing. Cheers, Duncan
