  1. Haha!... funny you mentioned this right at this moment... As I am in the throes of dealing with this balck/white badges issue as we speak. In the end I went with the advise I was given earlier on this thread. Either get a manufacturers original one and paint that, or a Monte Carlo one and paint the bits you need in white. I have gone with the first bit. Ordered 2 original badges from Skoda, @ £19.00 each, to pick up shortly and going to spray over them myself as I do the exhaust tips in black too... (using heat resistant spary paint for these though). As for the other mods I spoke of for my moon white Octavia VRS Estate, now arrived ... Superskoda have been brilliant and delivered all what I ordered quite quick... Original Rubber mats for the grubby kids, (cost more at the dealers) Rear bumper diffusor, a boot load protector in gloss Black. All quick fits. I've also gone with a 3D Resin-Gel plates, £25.00 for both pieces off eBay, arrived next day. Hey, I voted REMAIN, but no point displaying that EU tag anymore gov. It was then a 2 minute fix job. I ordered some other bits from Milotec which Superskoda didnt stock. But they seem to have the worst customer service ever, I don't know how they keep trading with their attitude. No email replies asking about fitment etc, or quite curt ones back and then non altogether after asking about delivery times. So I bailed out of that order, and am now ditching the rear boot (top) spoiler extension jobby, a black rear boot screen they did, and the red grille stripe, which runs on the top bit only of the black grille. This guy doing the gloss black roof wrap job in a few days time says he can wrap this bit red for me too. besides I read someone else here also say they just took their grille off, covered the bits they didn't need painted and sprayed the parts they needed. I believe in their case it was two horizontal VRS slats, 1 green and 1 red. I may put up pics of mine in the gallery once done. But its been cheap and cheerful so far and has transformed a car which was already good to start with! Lovin it!... 'ave-it! My car isn't even a month old yet and I have benefitted quite greatly already from all the info and how-to's on here. So am happy to supply any other info on request about my own current gig and experiences. Oh, and the Canton is slowly coming into its own now. Big change in sound scope already from what I heard on day one. Been told to give it 50 to 100 hours though to bed in. Current MPG is still a bit poor though. New engine run-in I guess. It took about 3000 to 4000 miles for my last car , a VW-CC, to return the kind of MPG i saw other people claiming to get, but it did in the end. Again, am also only using BP-Ultimate or Shell V-Power.
  2. Hi guys! Just taken delivery of my Moon White Octavia VRS Estate. My first Skoda, and loving it so far. First impressions... its a lot of car for the money. Trying to stick to the point here and ramble on about this on the other relevant threads. However, Vinyl Wrapping the roof in Gloss Black was always on the cards, as it came with the Black Package Plus Extra, and Canton options . Unfortunately for me so far, the two Wrap guys I have gone to won't touch it, as the the car comes with roof bars which are apparently a major pain to mess with. They supposedly interfere with other (curtain airbag type) electricals on the car should one try to disassemble them. The one post I can find online on this very car just says this is a no go area. So... has anyone wrapped their Octavia Estate roof with bars, and how did they go about it? Would it have to be a disjointed wrap piece? I may now yet accept this option if offered. On the same point, does there exist a Gloss (Black) Plasti-Dip option? Am in S.E London, so any advise or recommendations welcome too. Can and will travel anywhere around M25 for a good Wrap job . Kindly assist.
  3. Hi Ads230... And thanks for the welcome and your feedback. To be honest, I cant find a recent T&C copy handy, but i don't think the letter of the (lease) law would allow any mods. This is why am keeping it minimal, and reversible. Infact i've worked out that at worst, the 2 emblems would the only non-reversible mod. I would like to be optimistic enough to say that when it comes to it, am hoping this on its own would not cause the dealership crew to go into DefCon Lockdown... all because the car was handed back in with black & white emblems after 3 years. It's about good auction resale value for them. So they are usually more concerned with how the car has been kept overall. Am ashamed to say I WILL pass this particular test, comfortably. As for the debadging it all started with my current VW-CC, which came "new-new" debadged too, without me ordering this. I then worked out that one or 2 other similar cars also came this way. So i don't believe this rule will be cast in stone either. If you ask me, it is not so much different from adding a specification to the car post delivery, say retrofitting a reversing camera or tow bar, mud guard, fog lights or similar, which I could have ordered pre-delivery. I am also not touching the engine, nor anything else that would be deemed to be interfering with any of the cars' performance or safety features. I will email the dealership ASAP about the debadging though. Thanks for the altering the Monte Carlo edition emblem route. I make you right on this point and will proceed this way. Is there a preferred stockist for these? Kindly let me know. Cheers!...
  4. Good day good people! Newbie first post here, so be kind. Yes... I have seen the light, and I now await the delivery of my first Skoda, a facelift Octavia 230 VRS-DSG, Estate, Moon White with Black Design Pack Plus, due end of September 2017. OMG, can't wait. But as with all my (lease cars), I will be looking at slight styling mods. I was researching the emblems when I came across this thread. I am going for the Black & White colour combi, as per @dhvrs' ones. Big thumbs up. My various questions are as follows. 1.) I read somewhere about someone debadging all the rear end via the dealer. Erm... are the name badges put on by the dealer, and not whilst the car itself is being assembled? Am I too late to ask the dealer to debadge mine? But if I have to do this myself, no probs, whats the best results method anyone here has used? 1.) I need to obtain the 2 emblems and spray paint (eBay) to mod these myself. But as I dont yet have the car, I'm not sure what size the 2 emblems are? Are they 80mm or 90mm? And are the front and rear emblems the same size? 2.) Then there's also the quality of them. The "same" emblems seem to cost from £10.00 right upto £47.00 each. Any word on which to buy or avoid? Am trying not to spend £100.00 on just 2 emblems, plus paint, when the £20.00 for 2 emblems would have done just as well. Especially when I have other mods planned on the car. I plan to order a few bits from www.milotec.de to do this. I can list all these in time, or will just put up the car pics when am done. Am however going black/white minimallistic. The car looks quite nice as is even in standard form I dare say. Hence my coversion to the make. Any (and even) part answers will be quite appreciated. Lee.
