Another engine issue - Resulted in full service of engine. New pistons nearly replaced everything. R

To end this thread. The repair.. Ye.. It cost me. But I do like the car and would not give it up. The engine is has now fully been restored and fixed. See attached images for all the parts that got changed (May be in swedish) EDIT: All items above exept "Frakt" is spareparts to the engine. Case Closed

Motorn är urplockad och hos ett företag WasaMotor just nu. Så.. Ja, de som noterats än i motorn är detta: - turbo - ramlager - vevlager - kolvringar - kolvbultar - ganska slitna kolvar - pcv-ventil - ventilskaftstätningar - oljesil Så.. En hel del och de var inte riktigt klara än. Men ser ut som att det blir en ganska stor renovering utav motorn. Exempelvis bild på min oljesil.. som jag inte ens hade (den vänstra är min, högra är den komplett del). Än har jag inte riktigt gett upp hoppet. Då jag heller lagar felen, än att gå runt dom och köpa begagnad motor med samma fel.

Får kolla in med kablaget när jag fått tillbaka bilen. Än är den på lagning och pratade senast med dom igår, felsökt vidare och konstaterat att det ej är turbon. Skall ringa idag tänkte jag runt lunch och skynda på lite. Hoppas minst att de kan få ur motorn och få den skickad till bekant som skall kolla på den. Och, fin bilen var på insidan också Såklart jag bifogar bild också, Enda negativa att byta stereo att jag tappar lite funktioner för att se typ AC temp i stereodisplayen och lite övriga inställningar. Men CD-växlare utan aux/bluetooth möjlighet var jag tvungen att byta ^^

Riktigt härlig! liten och.. Kraftfull chansar jag på? Får se hur det blir. Har faktiskt inte kontaktat verkstaden som har min bil men på måndag ringer jag och kollar status. Oklart om jag faktiskt vill sänka bilen, hade kunnat bli riktigt fett. Men tror inte jag hade haft tålamodet att sakta ner så mycket över alla gupp. Exempelvis de som är i vår stad där jag bor. Men nya bromsskivor, plastidippa fälgarna. Eventuellt den chromade biten på fronten. Och inte minst sagt. Ta orken och dra kablar till en bas, måste bara få in kablar genom motorrummet. Har inte kollat här på forumet om någon gjort de tidigare men kan nästan tänka mig att det finns en eller två diskussioner om vilka vägar man kan ta in från motorrummet.

Oj. Det var ganska mycket gjort! Jag hoppas ju på att få börja någonstans, tips på vad man kan göra ganska enkelt själv till o börja med? Gällande min motor så är de tydligen vanligt fel. Men lite tråkigt att undgå felet när de finns möjlighet till att laga. Har du kanske någon bild du vill dela med dig utav på din bil?

Bor egentligen nära jobbet också men.. Så lätt att sova lite extra länge och istället ta bilen till jobbet. Men den har gått 19 000 mil. Kör gör jag ganska mycket om man jämför med bekanta jag har. Vill ju börja modifiera lite smått som tona rutorna, nya fälgar (Funderar på att försöka plastidippa de jag har svarta). Det jag redan gjort var ju att direkt byta stereo, så en bas skall inom sin tid installeras (Enda som "behövs" göras är att dra kablar). Är din modifierad på något sätt?

Just nu går det inte så bra, då jag har lite problem med den (du kan läsa min tråd på forumet).. Men, får se efter motor reparationen eller om det är så att jag byter hela motorn. Väldigt nöjd annars. Fin acceleration, väldigt rymlig jämfört med en kombi. Mjuk och köra så länge man kan håller sig borta från att trycka ner gasen för mycket Men får se hur det blir nu efter reparationen. Hur långt har din gått ungefär?

I have called the seller and they will look it up on the engine, awaiting for their call. About the milage and the servicebook. You are seeing "Milage" on the website. And the servicebook is in kilometer. So.. The numbers do add up as it seems to be serviced not long before the crash / hit that made it end up in parts ^^

The I got from seller was only this - "06F100033GX" Not correct code?

So, to be correct. The engine number above is - BWA 086 093? Will get in contact with the engine seller to see what number it has. ---------- EDIT: I got in contact with the seller and the only number they could provide was - 06F100033GX Don't really know if that's correct. :P

Or is it actually displayed on the page? Either way thanks in advanced for all help so far! New engine and change I already have gotten a price for. To repair my current engine no workshop has taken that as an solution.

Så.. Hur ser det egentligen ut med svenskar som kör Skoda? Känns som att många lämnat skoda för andra märken.

A good workshop has replyed to me and given me a price. For about 25 000 SEK (2 600 Euro). Il get an new engine and the change. IMO this is pretty good price. Im awaiting the call to see how far the new engine has been used.

So.. As it looks like now iam waiting for a price for for either a repair of current engine (Fixing the piston rings), as many have said and my googling and researching that's the probable cause to the big oil consumption. Also a price for changing engine (With new/used engine in the price), if I don't choose to repair my current engine. But still here in Sweden a lot of repair shops still have closed during summer.. So next week I hopefully will get some answers. So.. What do you guys think is best solution? Fix the Piston rings or change the engine? My thoughts is, If I do change to new engine with less KM on it, the same issue could appear later on again.. But for now, thanks for replys and help!

Thanks for reply, I have found a new engine and im thinking of purchasing that instead of repairing my current. Or what do you guys think would be the best solution? It's "LOW OIL PRESSURE". I did not know after latest oil change that it drank it. So now im checking the oil every time i need to fuel up. Though interesting error I got yesterday was I did get the "LOW OIL PRESSURE" warning. But, my oil is still full! This was in a steep-hill up with a total of 5 people in the car. The error has not shown itself anymore. will not call them again. Currently im looking for a workshop that actually wants to help me. Most of them tells me to "New engine is cheapest solution". Thank again, lovely forum and community. I don't want to lose my skoda. A good thing that happened was the previous owner did not know about the issue. But is willing to split the bill for the needed repair. Cred for previous owner. (Backstory is that he around 9 months ago got new job and the car since that has just been parked, but still regally checked.

Hi! Thanks for reply. What was dry was the dipstick. And yes. Will try to get in contact with a workshop to do a compression test. The first service i called said the test would not show if it's the pistons rings. But I guess il call another one. Thanks once again.

Hi! So. Lets start from the begining. I purchased a Skoda Octavia RS ( TFSI 2.0 ), year model 2006. Owned it for about 2-3 months and now a big issue has appeared. In the start I had Low Oil pressure warning. Soo.. I did an oil change since the workshop said that it could be bad oil and alot of dirt. Soo.. Time passes and and after around 2000 km - The oil is empty. The warning "Low Oil Pressure" came again. Soo Naturally i did oil level test.. And literally, it was dry. Is it possible for the car to drink so much oil? The probable cause I have gotten is bad piston rings. So im reaching out on the forum if anyone have had any issue as the same or could help me troubleshoot what makes it drink so much oil. Currently i have filled with once again and is measuring and doing regular checks on the oil level to see if it goes down, Now im 100km in and its still full. Thanks in advanced (And sorry for bad spelling / grammar - Swede here! ) Edit: The car is at 184184 km.
