I lost something behind the ash tray cover!
It's happened again - another credit card has disappeared in that narrow slot at the back of the ashtray/coin tray cover. I managed to get the tray out but there's no obvious access to the back of the tray - which is where it's probably gone. Is there a way to remove the assembly etc Any ideas please? How to set up phones & Bluetooth on Columbus infotainment
My Superb (17 plate) has been fine with 2 phone users for years - but now we increasingly use phone apps to listen to music, rather than the radio.. And here comes the problem - the car seems to choose randomly whose phone it will connect to for phone/Bluetooth music! And the same for whose phone contacts it will download. So is there a way to force the car to choose a particular phone for phone calls and a particular phone for music via Bluetooth? I've tried the documentation - of course - but it isn't really obvious, at least to me!

Bluetooth (new phone) audio won't connect
Been away for a while, but a replacement Android phone is giving a problem. I use the Rayo app to connect to the Columbus system (for ad-free listening). Old phone worked fine (OK, sometimes hard to get it to connect to my phone rather than hers). The new phone (moto g54) is connected to Skoda BT when in the car, but the Rayo app does not play over Columbus, only over the phone's speaker. Her phone, a moto g31, is the only one that does. Reg is VA17JUT (Superb II) which I've had from new. Any help appreciated!

DRG transmission problem - fixed
During 2022 my Superb DRG (2017 reg) developed a horrible judder when setting off from rest. Opinion (local garage and mobile garage - dealer not much help) eventually settled on a gearbox problem. I went off to Bristol Transmissions for diagnostics (£90). Yes, they would need to replace 2 clutches and the flywheel. They quoted a fixed price of £1500 + VAT (less the £90!) I duly turned up last December, delivered it and made my way back to Stroud by bus and train. Thank you Google Maps! Got the call to collect it 2 weeks later, as estimated. Now, a month later, the car has proved to be delightfully smooth again. Sadly, this is not an uncommon problem with this and related models, they said. Highly recommended service.

Superb III rattle when moving from stop. DSG
Did you solve this rattle? I've got something very similar (Superb III 1.4 Petrol DSG). I've booked it in for diagnostics with Bristol Transmissions after advice from local garage.

Where is the online handbook?
I haven't needed to consult the online handbook for ages, and now with a new phone and the old app gone, I can't find a replacement! I installed MySkoda (Android) but it seems to be a bit useless and is not a handbook! Is there another app? My questions are, in case anyone has an answer at their fingertips: 1. If someone phones (Columbus infotainment) and you (passenger of course) want to take the call on your phone & not broadcast to the rest of the car - how do you switch the loudspeaking off? 2. Where on earth is the setting for sound front/back left/right? I'm coming up to 4 years in the 2017 Superb, and it has got to be my best car ever. A few niggles about silly electronics (especially the ability to open the boot inadvertently!!!!) but that's it. Cheers, Rob

Turns your lights off, REALLY off!
At the drive-in "Film on the farm" last night, shown to position so that we can see the screen. Engine off, settle down, wait for the film. A few minutes after it starts there's a few raindrops. Ignition on (push-button, as it's keyless). Wipe screen, ignition off. Odd - after a few minutes the low-level lights are still on. Thinks - the car senses that we are in it so keeps them on for a bit. These things are sooooo clever. After a few more minutes, man appears - we've had trouble with a few new Beamers, lights go off after about 15 minutes. Oh, OK then. After a lot more minutes another man appears (I have now lost the plot of Jurassic Park). He asks if the keys are in - no, they don't go in. Then - bright idea! What if you turn that switch to off? Yes, that did it. I should have thought of that - the rotary light switch. Sorry to the car behind, and the one in front ...
