  1. After 8 months of sheer hell with my VRS TDi-NEVER! Oh,and don't forget the generous offer of
  2. In an effort to replace my errant Octy VRS TDi I have recently had a demo in the above vehicle, and I must say that it is most impressive!!! The car we tried had black leather and dual zone air con and was the obligatory silver. I was very impressed by the performance(but not the economy)of the 197BHP Golf GTi engine and the fit and finish of the cabin was superb. The roof is a super piece of engineering and is both quite and quick in it's operation,an added bonus is the glass tilt/slide sunroof, although there seemed to be a lot of wind noise with the sunroof open. With the roof down and all 4 side windows up,conversation was perfectly OK at up to 70 MPH,and the dual zone heater was a bonus for the wife! My Ideal would be:EOS 140TDi Sport with DSG in red with just a few options, but as the price gets closer to 25K,and my local dealer doesn't want to discount as he only has 1 more unallocated this year,AND used ones are almost as rare as rocking horse droppings,I think I may have to save a little harder!!
  3. I can confirm that Winchester skoda have a black TDi Scout,it was being driven around by the dealer principle last week, and was at Cherwell Valley Services last friday(4th) I had a quick peek-looks good to me!
  4. As Alex says earlier-Aftersales care from this dealer leaves alot to be desired, had my Fabia VRS from them new and when the washer jets moved and would only spray onto the (parked) wiper blades, they told me it was a 'characteristic' of the car!!!! So I bought my Octavia VRS TDi from another dealer, who was, unfortunately, too far away when problems started,so I had to use Clock again-and no,things hadn't really changed,as they didn't follow the paper trail properly, and my opinion is that they added to my problems!!!!! Shan't bother again
  5. Not so easy,my Solicitor stated that the SUPPLYING dealer must have a realistic chance to put the faults right, and as they were 150 miles away it went to my local dealer(a lot of times) first,on reflection I consider that this MAY not have helped,as it made me more irate about the whole thing!! The supplying dealer has bent over (almost) backwards and although they didn't supply a like for like loan car,I cannot really fault them. Like most of you VRS owners I ordered this car with the 'bits' that would add to my comfort and enjoyment, and fully intended to keep it at least 3 years, the performance/economy were most impressive and particually the 'umph' from 70-130mph(sorry 330Cd owners!!!) I would like to assure you all that the decision was NOT reached lightly-but we all need to move on! I haven't replaced the car yet,as I'm still smarting a bit from all these problems!:(
  6. Continual EML and/or glow-plug lights flashing, faults shown in Maxi-dot display, car in limp home mode. MAF replaced 3 times Height sensor replaced 3 times Pressure sensor replaced 3 times Glow plug relay replaced 3 times Wiring to MAF replaced Both headlights replaced Drivers side sill cover replaced Not bad in 6 months ownership, although I haven't had the car for 12 weeks of that time! The worst problem is still the TOTAL feeling of being let down by SKODA.........
  7. You may all remember my earlier thread re the above, well just to let you all know that after much soul searching I have decided to sell my car back to the supplying dealer,at a price where we all have to give a little, but no-one looses massive amounts. I DO NOT blame the dealer, rather Skoda UK and VAG for their complete and total lack of technical support and 'customer care' After being inconvenienced so many times Skoda had only offered
  8. Today I am told that they want to send my 'errant' VRS TDi to a Skoda 'centre of excellance' or a'full reporting dealer' for a complete diagnosis. Anyone know what they're talking about? Todays annomally:removed the ignition keys and the radio continued to play for about 20 seconds?!?! Perhaps my car needs 'exorcising'
  9. Yes Stu-to Skoda finance! todays anomalies were:door lock light on whilst driving and glow plug light flashing with fault message in the maxidot-both were reset by locking/unlocking the car again. I am still awaiting the dealer to tell me what happens next,as I like the car and I'm loath to take that 'last step' Don't think after all this though that I would have another-or even another VAG car with the 170TDi engine!! :thumbdwn: I have been in touch with Skoda finance, and am getting daily calls from Skoda customer service-it's just that none of them seem to want 'come forward' Does anyone have Chris Crafts' email address?-I'm told he's Skodas' MD
  10. Stu, this is easy to say,but not when the supplying dealer is 149 miles from where you live! Anyway they have just had the car back for almost a week and STILL the EML light has come on!!:weeping: Thats now 14 visits to a dealer!!!!
  11. You may have read my earlier thread(VRS TDi Problems) well, these problems are now reaching breaking point(mine!!!!) and to say that I am less than impressed with Skodas reaction is,to put it mildly, somewhat of an understatement!!!! I am currently locked in a loop between customer services and the dealer principal, with each awaiting the other!! Has anyone else had the unhappy misfortune of rejecting a vehicle from skoda? Or any other incurable warranty problems?
  12. called from mobile and asked if they could look at my car while I waited,as I was in Cannock on business and on a tight schedule. When I got there I was told that I would have to wait whilst technicians had lunch(even though I was there well before!!!!!!) Dealer principal not worth speaking to,will not bother again
  13. Happened to me too the other day-did give me some concern, especialy after the recent problems... just locked and unlocked it again-no repeat so far!
  14. My mate, the Service Manager at the local VW dealer, tells me that they have several 'steadily' driven Golf GT170's that continually have DPF lights on......... I think you just need to drive as Skoda intended.........
  15. My Vrs has had a Glow plug relay fitted (after waiting 4 weeks for the parts) and since then has been back for the earths to be cleaned (?)-I was told by the dealer that they had removed the n/s headlamp and cleaned and remade the earth, and also removed the wiper motor and done the same (!?) The current problem is with the height sensor/current charge pressure sensor, which puts the EML on and makes the glow plug warning lamp flash-if you have Maxi-dot the display reads 'Engine fault-emissions workshop' So far (5025 miles) my car has been off the road for 10 days,as I refused to use it with the EML on. I have a friend who is Service Manager at the local VW dealer, who explained that the EML is the warning light for 12 checks that the vehicle carries out on start-up (confirmed by the suppying dealer) these checks include (believe it or not) the brake lights and/or the switch!!!! So if your EML comes on it could be one of a dozen things!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I asked my friend about the particulate filter,to be told if the light comes on-give it a good thrashing!
  16. Good afternoon all, I have looked on the site for mention of problems with Octavia VRS TDi-am I the only one suffering from EML and Glow plug lights coming on?????? Tomorrow will be the 10th visit to the dealer, either for resets or parts to be fitted-HELP!!!!:(
