  1. Testing itself to make sure that if you break in a hurry you're not going to die! As Rooboy says though, I'm probably talking a load of old tosh trying to relate it to your problem though. If it's not what I thought it was, WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH MINE TOO!!!!!!!!!
  2. Fair play. You're probably right - They tell me that Blackadder does rather a good line in rough shag, I'm sure he'll be happy to fill your pipe!
  3. The sound that you are hearing is the ABS testing itself. That's what it says in teh instruction manual anyway. Why it is more noticable when reversing is anyone's guess.
  4. Tee hee hee. I'm going back to work mate. (For five minutes or so). Will speak more if you're still online.
  5. Well, I found out today that the fab rs has been proven to be quicker that the OCT rs between 40 and 70. As this is where most driving is done, I know which car I'd prefer to pull a plough with.............drilled.
  6. I might say the same about you dude..............but I just forgot, you're gonna quit your job and go snowboarding for sx months anyway aren't you? As for my being fired before...........at least I did it with style. Being escorted off the premises at Bradford and Bingley estate agents is always good for a laugh!
  7. Does anyone know how much it will cost to chip my Fab vrs, and roughly what difference it will make to the insurance? Although its fast enough as it is, you can never have enough can you?
  8. Too right my good man. Waste of space - as are more storage pockets.
  9. I think you're right there mate, but what I don't use now I probably never will! Still, it's useful to keep picking up on little bits and bobs - keep it coming.
  10. No but its good to have just to say that its got it. I'm confused, if the 'flappy cupboard thing CJ is referring to is on the drivers side, surely that is not the friddge compartment as that is in the glove box! In the compartment that I am referring to on the drivers side, there is a push switch that says ON. What the heck is this all about???
  11. I do feel for you DT. However, if someone drives up my **** I'm more inclined to jam on the breaks than drive faster - as if you drive faster you are giving them what they want (not that many people have seen the back of my car since I got the fab vrs)! However, they would probably have done you for dangerous driving if you did that anyway. Just to get this off my chest - if coppers made speed limits realistic, people may be more inclined to stick to them. 70 on an empty motorway for example, is nothing short of an unfunny joke.
  12. If you want to know about servicing. Give me a shout in a month. I have done 7500 and do 100+ per day. It won't be long now.
  13. Cheers dude. Only prob is now I'll have to think of something remotely interesting to talk about.
  14. Besides which, I have no idea how to start a new discussion thread as I am an ignorant numb skull. How do you do it anyone?
  15. Because I was getting seriously bored with talking about spiders as I think they are sick and have no right to be on our planet. Good enough reason?
  16. How many fav vrs have you seen since you got yours. I've had mine three months and only ever seen one other!
  17. You've hit the nail on the head. The thing I love most about driving the vrs is the fact that it catches other drivers totally off guard. Although people's image of Skodas is changing, they still don't expect (or appreciate) having one hurtle past them! I'm sure that if I wasn't in a Skoda, people wouldn't get up my **** so much when I over-take and am slowed down by the next car!
  18. A number of points well made mate. I was quite shocked when I logged on to this site and saw the fab vrs getting a grilling, but I'm sure that there are a number of people (like ourselves) that can appreciate the quality of both cars. You have given me some hope!
  19. Fair point dude. My only point is that the fab vrs is a quality car (especially for the dosh).
  20. I'd probably agree with that if I was honest - that's the short answer (esp with a body of its size) but the mid range on the tdi is such a laugh. Stick it in 3rd when you get to 40 and feel it fly! Plus, I know it's a bit of a sad thing to say, but the economy would not be in the same league. I'd love to be rich and not have to take that into consideration but I can't (I travel 100 miles a day to get to work and back). I plan to get mine chipped in a few months - that should be interesting!
  21. I'm not even going to grace your description of the fab vrs with a response. I thought people that used this site would know a thing or two about cars. I have no idea what the car you have referred to is like, so won't comment. Take it easy now.
  22. I'll admit that the oct vrs is an outstanding car..........................but come on lads, do me the decency of admitting that the fab vrs is a nice little motor.........this is my pride and joy we are talking about here!
  23. Have you actually ever driven a fab vrs? If you have I will assume you are mad. If you haven't - do so. The oct vrs is good, my brother owns one. But my fab vrs looks SO much better. Performance is also blinding. Even my brother admits that it's a force to be reckoned with - how's that for talk?
