A big thank you to everyone who gave me advice on my 6000 mile "burned out clutch" nightmare. I really wouldnt know driver error from mechanical failure.............Needles to say Im over the moon that Skoda uk will rectify the problem free of charge.Derek Slacks Skoda are doing the work this week Edited: moved to My Maintenance.

I know, but how would I go about it.................. The dealer that the car is at now said, i quote "...BECAUSE ITS IS SUCH AN UNUSUAL PROBLEM, WE ARE GOING TO GET IN TOUCH WITH SKODA UK & SEE IF THEY WILL REPAIR IT ON WARRANTY..." As mentioned before, there is no way that i could have caused this damage in 3000 miles & the female accountant at Alex Lawrie Skoda who used it before me must have been towing a HGV with it or she was deaf & couldnt have heard the noise as the engine must have been squeeling!

I desperately need help/advice. In February 2004 I gave up driving VW & purchased a 5 month old Octavia Vrs from Alex Lawrie Skoda Liverpool with 3000 miles on the clock. Yesterday whilst driving to Sheffield to see a mate my clutch buggered up. This has now been recovered to a Skoda dealer near to my home town. They have looked at it & stated that it is due to wear n tear, not covered by warranty & will cost me

Just bought a silver octavia vrs (part ex for my GTTDI Golf).It is a flying machine..........I'm a Police officer & I know a "licence looser" when I see one. The missus hates it though. I dont choose the wallpaper in the house!!!Anyone got any maintenance tips etc.
