  1. Hi Lbe I'm certainly not the expert on all things bluetooth and Skoda but I too have a Yeti without bluetooth and I am in the process of retro fitting it. The process of retrofitting isn't terribly complicated. You would need to source a compatible bluetooth module (new or 2nd hand) from somewhere like eBay anything between £60-120, a wiring loom and microphone about £55 and then 10 minutes worth of VCDS coding to tick a check box in the cars software and then somebody to install it all. By far the easiest and cheapest method of getting bluetooth in the Yeti is to buy one of those in-car visor kits - Plantronics K100 is very very good and seems to win all the awards.
  2. I suspect we might not hear anything from the original poster again...it's been a long time with no update.
  3. Thanks Upsidedown, I'll chase down a few local VAG specialists to see if they might be interested in giving it a go - I don't fancy my chances though if I'm honest. I really appreciate the offer, fingers crossed I'll be in touch.
  4. Thanks for that - I need my Bluetooth module coding in soon
  5. I would absolutely love to get the off road button retrofitted not only for being able to use it myself but also for when I sell it one day in the distant future. Eddie-NL - knowing what is involved could you recommend anyone with the skills who could do this?
  6. I took my Yeti for a service and haldex change at my local Skoda dealer a couple of weeks ago, after chatting with the service assistant about the usual things like weather, modern cars etc we walked outside and I raised the question of the emissions fix...."at least 1 in 10 are coming back in for warranty work, mostly EGR valves, maybe 1 in 5.. a lot. Mostly 1.6's though come to think of it". I asked whether he would have it carried out on his own vehicle and was initially gobsmacked he said yes he would and has. His reason being that "the best thing about it as a consumer is that all the things that can go wrong are covered for 2 years or up to 160K miles so it's like a used car warranty so what's not to like". Err... poor running, poor mpg by comparison, early component failure and reduced expected service life of the entire unit...". He didn't really know what to say so I let him off and changed the subject. The reason for replying is that Skoda dealers are absolutely aware of the issues especially with 1.6's of having the fix. There is a strong argument for negligence of how on Earth can they apply this update to cars knowing that 10% suffer component failure, reduced performance and economy. It really is scandalous.
  7. I'd also like to know if still available.
  8. Hi 137699, yes I remember reading your thread over on SYOC it was a scary read. Im planning on changing it at 30k and will do the haldex at the same time as well. Ive been an advocate of changing gear oil ever since i changed it in my first MK1 Golf 18 years ago. The difference it made was well worth it. I'll take headinawayoffski advice on asking for a master tech to carry out the change or better yet I'll take the day off work and watch them do it through the window...you know...just to be sure.
  9. I should have elaborated... it kind makes me more nervous getting my DSG oil changed. I have had my 2013 2.0TDI 4x4 DSG Yeti just over a month - it's on 28K miles, has never been back to Skoda since it was bought (so no emissions update!) so it seems it doesn't need changing til 40K but with the DSG being a complicated piece of kit (and expensive when things go wrong) I am keen to get the oil changed at 30K instead.............until I see threads like this. Is there anything that can be looked out for immediately afterwards?
  10. Kinda makes me nervous about getting my DSG oil changed..
  11. Sorry to ressurect an old thread but you guys establish the best adhesive to use for fixing the trims on?
