  1. Ah boo. Was hoping this would be an easy fix. Will probably wait until the spring. Too cold at the moment. MOT not due until Aug, so will have to get it done by then anyway.
  2. Thanks for the reply. It's a late 2006, so pre facelift? Sorry, do you mean I can pull the head washer jet off first, or bumper off first? Ta
  3. Hi So noticed today that the o/s headlight washer is coming out, but not squirting water onto the headlight. The passenger side is working perfectly. Is there a way to check/pull out the washer unit, without taking the bumper off? Only to see if the washer pipe has fallen off, or to unblock the washer jets? I did a search, but couldn't find anything similar to the problem I have. Thank you.
  4. Ah, that's why! Maybe an optional extra on the older cars then?
  5. It doesn't work on my 2006 L&K. Booo! And on holding the lock button down, it now won't open! Double boo!
  6. What! That is amazing. Will try this on mine when the wife gets home! Or is this a trick that L&Ks, post 2006 it only works on?
  7. A 2.0td! And only because I have one! On a serious note, it's down to what you want and what you need the vehicle for. There's nothing wrong with the 1.9td mind, and now everyone is panicking about diesels, so you will/may pick one up cheap.
  8. I would personally go for the silicone, and see how it goes from there. Mines been leaking too, but think it may be where the rubber, seal around the boot, is upside down!! The holes in the rubber are on the top!? I'm now also going to check where you've pointed out.
  9. Will do, I'll find out how much as they are not charging me as I've only had the car for two weeks.
  10. So on speaking to the garage where I purchased the vehicle from. They are taking the car in, next week and will clean the turbo and check the vains for damage. Now that's service! Sorry I didn't have a chance to let you know how it went, if I did it myself, but thought I'd try the garage first.
  11. Just drove back from Lincoln to Cardiff and it didn't go into limp mode. But I drove it fairly nicely. Eased it up to speed and didn't floor it or push it over or up to the red line. Either way I still need to investigate as it went into limp mode twice on the way up to Lincoln and both times the car was under load.
  12. Thanks for the reply. I've only had my car a week, and this is the first time it's happened. If you don't mind I'll update on this thread when I get the time.
  13. Excellent write up. This is something I envisage I will be completing shortly, as mine is doing the same! Did you manage to sort the hesitation out?
  14. Just to update the fix. The binding break was not the caliper, slider pins or piston, but the handbrake cable too tight on the one side. Result!
  15. Agree. Im going to overhaul the NS one once they sort this out. Might even get a quote for both.
  16. On it. Spoke to the garage earlier, where I purchased the vehicle from. Open all day Sunday! In all fairness they said as I couldn't get the car to them. To get a quote for repair. I explained I didn't really want to drive it far. I also checked the mot, which the garage did, the day before I picked it up and it failed on rear OS rear caliper binding. I explained this to them. They replied it wasn't binding, hence passing the mot, shortly after. I think adding new discs and pads all round won't sort the problem. Let's see what happens when I get an estimate. I'm sure it's a sticking slider pin or piston.
  17. Your right thank you. I fix down one to go hopfully
  18. Yeah I should and your right, but it's an hour away and if easily fixed, I'm more than happy to do it myself. The car came with a 3 month warranty, so will use this if I can't get the issues sorted. On a jaunt to Norfolk Saturday so need to fix this before then. Forgot to add can't drive it too far as the break is binding.
  19. Hi So after picking up a 2006 Octavia yesterday. Everything was fine when I checked it over and took it for a test drive. Typically today I noticed a few quirky trates being; OS rear break binding, checked the leaver inside, behind the astray, and OS side one side seems pulled more than the other. Could it be just loosening the cable on that side first before taking the caliper apart? And if so, is this done from the wheel or the leaver end? Both passenger doors will now not open from outside, I either have to press the unlock door button inside, or open the door from inside. An annoyance as I need the child locks on! I've read that you need to open from inside then outdide a few times, and has worked for some. Is there a reason for this? Other than that, l really like and enjoy driving the Octavia! And the extras the L&K has.
  20. Thanks! So I picked it up and was pleasantly surprised, that it has both tinted side mirrors, AC, but why a sunroof! I'm sure as it has xenon lights, looks like like a crystal ball the round drove it back to Cardiff. Brand new discs and pads all round, but when I stopped for diesel. The rear off side alloy was hot to touch, so I'm assuming binding? But when I carried on home which was about half way, the alloy was warm...Hmmm. Any way, the drive was impressive and going to finger out what other gadgets it has.
