  1. Oh ok not sure about that one. If not then that's good. Hey the car mapped and make it more fun and run better. I have a diesel and it had the emissions update the wk I got it. Had a map put on it and it's a lot better. Gone from 170bhp to 205bhp
  2. That's a result mate. Least it will be sorted. Has your car had the emissions update yet?
  3. That's why I got one. I love the interior was not keen on the rims at first but they grew on me
  4. Give it a few days then call them again. Don't let them forget about you. Did you get a petrol 1 or diesel one just out of interest?
  5. Good choice of car. Best thing would be to give them a ring and see if your car comes under the recall. Just explain you have just got the car. Did the seller have a recall letter?
  6. I hear that. I was sceptical about them doing mine. But I spoke to a VW specialist who told me what they needed to do and how to deal with them so as not to have any problems. I wouldn't let them do any routine maintenance on my car
  7. After 8 years skoda figure out there is a problem and work out which cars would be affected. Everything they need to know is online DVLA will have all the information about who owns the car now so. Not sure exactly how they work out how many cars would have the problem. But all the information is available and pretty much all the systems are linked as most if not all dealerships do Mots and services. There is nowhere to hide and nothing they can't find out about the car and who has it
  8. Yes they drove it for about 4 miles. And said if the light came on it would have needed the unit replacing. They didn't give any indication of time. But if it comes on then it will go back as they messed with it
  9. I have had my ABS recall done today and safe to say there were no issues. Made it clear not to touch the engine management at all. And they have only done what was needed. Remap untouched and car is as was when it went in
  10. Yeah I can believe that. I have a 2001 vectra sri and I remember taking it to Vauxhall for a service. I sat for 2 hoir waiting for them to come out and tell me that it needed some other things doing. I asked why didn't they tell me while I was sitting waiting. So since then I have never been back to a main dealer. I've had my Skoda since January it's got a full Skoda service history but won't take it back to them as I don't trust them. Love to know how it's took them 8 years to figure out there is a problem
  11. It was the service desk. Don't like dealing with main dealers as they are crap. Thanks for the heads up. I will look into it more before I let them near my pride and joy. I take it you have had issues in the past?
  12. ABS/ESC fix. I have been into Skoda today and my car is booked in. I told them about the map and they said shouldn't be a problem but to check with the garage where I had it done to see if the fix will effect the map. Then it's my choice if I go ahead with the fix
  13. I have received this letter today. I have a 2009 limited edition. I have had a Quantum Blue ECO Power map put on the car. What i wanna know is, will this void the recall as I'm pretty sure the people who did the map locked the ECU so it can't be messed with. The car has had the emissions update just before I got the car at the beginning of the year. Be grateful if someone could shed some light on this before I ring Skoda
