Start trouble after standstill
IdlenutsDK replied to IdlenutsDK's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
Update: Replaced the fuel filter, didn't help (guess its not bad to replace anyway after 240.000km anyway) Switched the coolant temp sensor and the fuel vacuum valve (top of engine room with fuel lines and a connector) with another fabia. Didn't help Could start if I took out the connector for the coolant temp sensor tho. Got a tip from a skoda mechanic, replaced the bottom piece of the key ignition. Been working fine the last 5 days. Picture attached -
electric windows not working / door harness knowledge

Just to make sure, have you tried buttons on both doors ? Just easy to test to make sure its not them. I have 2 fabia mk1, and both have problems with the buttons. -
Kinda normal the door lock breaks The gears/motor inside will give in over time. I took mine apart. And dont buy a cheap doorlock, i did that and had to mix the original and the cheap one. There is more metal in the original one, and just plastic in the cheap one. The cheap one lasted for 3 weeks.

Used 3M kit here aswell, it doesnt last forever, but the kit can be used many times.

Start trouble after standstill
IdlenutsDK replied to IdlenutsDK's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
Okay, this morning i tried something, so if I turn ignition on 3-5 times without cranking it (for building up pressure on fuel lines) it started on first crank with no problem. -

Switched the coolant temp sensor, both says 4,x kohm After switching battery, the car wont even try to start (flat battery), but the battery comes from the working car. -

It does turn fine Wouldn't it be showing when reading out pending codes ? or at least not work in the dash ? Got a ohm/temp chart, so going to try and put my multimeter on it tomorrow -

Thanks, good idea Funny enough we needed the generator replaced this week, might be connected. But I switched the battery around, we got 2x fabia mk1, let's see how it starts tomorrow -
Hey all My fabia 1,2 is having a difficult time starting after hours of standstill, e.g after work or in the morning. It can start after a few tries. Been searching the forums and found out it might be fuel return lines or fuel pump. But fuel lines seems ok in the engine room (need to check again), replaced the "return valve" i think its called and i've replaced the fuel pump, no result. The starter turns fine, I can heard the fuel pump starting. Any ideas ?

We have 2x Fabia, both have a some issues with the switches on the door for the windows. Just seems like ****ting quality switches...just a suggestion for your troubleshotting

Hi experts Looking to buy another Fabia, but does this picture seem suspicious to you ? And a bonus question, does the Fabia mk1 comes with a shark fin antenna from original ? Sorry for bad english, not my main language

Door Clip Spring..Where does it go please?
IdlenutsDK replied to jik's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
With mine it started with a 50/50 chance of working, then it completely broke. If you buy a chinesium copy, it might brake after a few months (happened to me) What broke in my copy lock was the "inside tread" (sry, english isn't my first language) in the one marked by a red circle. The one in metal is from the original lock. Ended up mixing the two and have been working for almost a year so far. -
Would recommend when you have the plate out, replace the black sealing strip with something new, I used a sealing strip for windows. My old black sealing strip was like a sponge, which caused a leak in my sealant more than once until I replaced the sealant strip under the plate

Got mine fixed...well, I've found the problem. Had a wet floor in front drivers side and after sealing all doors (one of them 2-3 times) I've found the problem. Here's how: Ripped out interior/carpet Got a friend to spray with a water hose (start from bottom) Got inside the car with a flashlight to see where the water is coming from To my surprise all the water coming inside the car was running along the a-pillar and windshield from the top Seems like a former change of windshield was done poorly :( Used a lot of hours on this forum reading how to fix wet floors, but the problem was not the usual. But thanks from Denmark for being the best Skoda forum

Same problem here + missing rubber "hole cover" (sry for bad english) This caused, i think, my very wet footwell. Since sealing my rear doors didn't help. You are never too old to learn new things, like i'm not going to buy a skoda again, too many stupid construction failures. -
Okay, had this problem and was so stupid only sealing half way up the frame (tip from youtube video) Seal ALL THE WAY UP, have sealed one door 3 times because of this. If I had sealed all the way up in first try, I would have had A LOT less frustrations with this problem. Just a tip for all new people with this problem
