  1. I wouldn't have bothered either but the car was under warranty with an independent dealer who took it to Skoda. Other users can tell you about updates, I'm holding off yet Rustynuts knows his stuff
  2. Have the stop/start, already forked out for a new battery, not doing that for a while 💵 💵 💵
  3. I've already ordered next Base hard wire kit. Maybe forget about the parking recording.
  4. Hi there, just purchased a nextbase 412gw and have ordered a hard wire kit. Any recommendations on which fuse to use? Would like to use the parking feature but don't want the cam to drain the battery, is this possible? Any other advice greatly appreciated
  5. Definitely change timing belt, it has been contaminated. My water pump went at 48K, dealer only wanted to changed pump but my mechanic refused to do the work unless the timing belt was changed also. Warranty covered me lucky enough
  6. Thanks for the reply! He actually bought a different superb at the same dealer. A 2011 4x4 170, he has a matching pair now 😁
  7. Hi all, a work colleague is trying to decide which Superb to buy. He already has a 2011 4x4 170 manual, and is looking to buy another 1. He has narrowed it down to 2 local cars, hopefully links work https://www.reillymotors.co.uk/stock.html?car=228389232 https://www.reillymotors.co.uk/stock.html?car=253956504 I said that its depends if he wants/needs another 4x4. I'm slightly biased owning 1 also, but I would go for the 4x4 everyday! What do you think folks?
  8. Hi, I had to purchase spare wheel too after I bought my superb, make sure it is big enough to go over brakes, 16", I bought 2nd hand. Skoda charge a fortune for the full set. I went to local scrap yard and bought tool and jack set. Recently changed 2 front tyres and slow puncture on the rear, nightmare getting locking nuts open, went straight to scrapyard and bought 4 normal locking nuts. locking nuts are not worth the hassle!!
  9. My water pump went around 48k miles 2.0tdi 2014, car was still under warranty with garage (not skoda) I bought it from. My mechanic carried out the work, but insisted that the timing belt was done or he wouldn't touch the car. Dealer wasn't happy but agreed to sort
  10. Hi, got the start up issue sorted, my dealer left the car in with Skoda who reloaded the system. Still get the system starting message (delay) when I switch from ipod to tuner, but can live with that. Quick question on the sat nav, I use this a lot for work, when I enter a new location it takes me down small back roads, is there any way to set it to use major roads instead?? I've tried searching the settings but can't find how to do this, my previous Seat Exeo had a setting to change this
  11. Local dealer couldn't fit me in before warranty was up, contacted Skoda and received a reference number which will cover me until the car is checked. Dealer does not sound too fussed on doing the work Apologies for hijacking this thread!!
  12. Should I contact Skoda direct or the local dealer?
  13. Thought I'd update, Skoda replaced the EGR couple of weeks ago, took them 4 days as 4x4 was a lot more work, no courtesy car provided Car seems to be running better than before, DPF light did come on Saturday, but a 10min drive solved that
