Thanks for the welcome, guys. Race blue Octavia now on my drive. It's so damn quiet after the 1.9Tid SAAB! Hardly know it's started. Loving it. Only problem so far is lack of handbook.... back to dealer on that one.

Great to find BRISKODA on my search for an Octavia. About to part with SAAB 9-3.... sad that the marque is no more....a great BMW/Audi alternative that has served me very well, with a hint of 'not-just-another-German-repmobile'. And now onto the thinking chap's VAG choice! Can't believe what they can get out of a 1.2 petrol these days. Smaller engine than my wife's 03 Micra!! Looking forward to it.
