  1. Thank you I never thought of engine mounts. I'll check them. It's not the clutch, its had a single mass conversion.
  2. Hi everyone I'm hoping someone can help me, I'm after information on whether all 1.9 TDI bare engines are the same or whether you have to stick to same engine code or year or both. Basically my engine sounds like a tank and the clutch pedal vibrates when stationary and more when you accelerate. It's a 2010 car, ex taxi with 270000 miles but in excellent condition apart from the engine so I'd like to fix it as it's my first skoda and I love the car. Trouble is I'm on a limited budget so realistically my only option is to source a bare engine and replace it. I would appreciate any advice on which year/type engines could be used. Thank you in advance
  3. Thanks for the advice everyone, think I'm going to have to put some cleaners through it and if that doesn't work, take it to a specialist after my hols. I'll post it up if I find the problem
  4. The throttle body is attached to The egr valve and has a multi electric connector so I presume it's electric
  5. Hi everyone, I'm new to skoda and this site so I'm hoping someone can help me. I have a 2010 Octavia 1.9 diesel. One day it started spluttering, lost power and chucked out lots of smoke, it had done a similar thing before and the egr valve was replaced. I assumed it was the same so removed/blocked the egr pipe at the top of the valve. This made it drivable but wifh less power and when you reach 65 or need extra power it goes into limp mode. Switch engine off and back on and it runs again but will repeat the fault continuosly . I cleaned the valve and throttle body and it was fine for about a day then reverted to the problem. changed the egr with new but it is still the same. I changed the throttle body but it was an eBay buy so might not be as working as promised. Also on both the throttle bodys the valve appeared to be open all the time. Any help would be appreciated thanks
