  1. Morning you wonderful people. I have owned for the past 7 years an Octavia VRS Blackline 2.0 Diesel. I am wanting to upgrade to a Superb but the choice is mental. The biggest question i have is, shall i go for a petrol or diesel. Is diesel still the best option ? Or is petrol ? I don`t do about 8/10,000 a year. I do a lot of town driving. The price for Diesel Superb`s is easier than say the 1.4/1.5 petrol versions but again i ask is diesel the way to go ?? I don`t really know to be honest just looking for opinions i suppose.
  2. Hello my 2013, 130,000 mile Octavia Vrs has started to what can only be described as hiccup/ judder whilst driving. Keeps wanting to regen more than normal as well. Any ideas would be much appreciated ☺️
  3. Thanks for the reply rawcas... Yesterday my ABS like yours fired up, go figure.. the warning lights are going off & on when they feel like it. I had the front near side front speed sensor replaced. Mybe I should take it back to the garage to check the ABS ring. Thanks mate. I'll see what happens.
  4. Morning anyone near Southampton with a VCDS that could help a Vrs driver out 😁😁
  5. Thanks for the reply.....I have taken it back to the garage. He has replaced the near side SPEED sensor and the warning lights are still coming on. I have done what you suggested and turned the steering wheel from lock to lock. The warning lights went out. Now today they gave all come on again and after several lock to lock turns they will not go out. Theguy in the garage said it might be ABS module that needs replacing. Is it worth taking it to a Skoda specialist to get a reading from their VAG machine? I am very puzzled !!
  6. Sorry I posted the original statement in the wrong forum and it was attached to a topic about the warning lights. I then ,like a fool, copied and pasted in the right forum, without re reading it. In response to your questions, yes the ABS sensor/ speed sensor ( near side) has been replaced. The steering wheel icon (amber) the ABS icon and the tyre pressure icon are now on all the time. Took it back to the garage that replaced the sensor and he said all the problems being shown were stating intermittent. I apologize about the confusion. Any help would be appreciated.
  7. Morning, my 2013 Octavia Vrs facelift, is doing the same thing with all the warning lights. Had it checked by AA, they said near side speed sensor. Got it changed by a local garage. However, when I start the car now the same warning lights come on. Within 5 minutes of driving, they all go out. Any help from anyone as to why this is happening would be most appreciated.

  9. Ok everyone it's me again. High idle, high fuel consumption. To recap....my Skoda Octavia vrs is still idleing high 1000rpm. The remap guy was gonna take the map off. But I went for 100 mile trip and the engine ran brilliant for a week, fuel consumption was great no high idle. Then last Friday come home from work, white smoke coming out the exhaust, a lot of white smoke. Engine running high, fuel consumption gone mad again. My garage said the only way to sort this problem out is to remove the DPF filter. I have already spent a fortune on this motor, Is this the answer ? I know I been going on about this for a while now, but any advice or help anyone can give me will be greatly appreciated.
  10. Just had the remap engineer come out. He unclipped the MAF sensor. The idle went to 770 rpm. Does this denote a faulty sensor or an air leak somewhere?
  11. So replaced a fuse, A/C sorted (yes I know I should have checked that first) still idling at 1000rpm. The remap guy is gonna have a look to see if it something he has done. I am slowly getting fed up with this......I love the car but this is driving me nuts...
  12. Thanks for the info guys. To keep you updated. Skoda dealership checked the throttle body, all ok. The dealership checked everything, so they told me, found no faults. The remap engineer is coming to see me today to see if it something connected to what he did. ?? Another problem now my aircon has just packed in. Strange noise coming from just behind the unit in the dashboard when I turn it on. Any ideas ??
  13. My Skoda Blackline vrs facelift, diesel has started too idle at 1000rpm. It has been doing it for a while, it's not a regen. Skoda dealership can't find any problems. The fuel consumption has increased also. Can this be simply rectified? It has had a stage 1 remap, but I was doing this from time to time prior to the remap. Please someone help... It's driving me barmy...
  14. Update.....the stuttering had stopped. The garage has it sorted. Apparently it was a wiring problem. The signal wasn't getting to the injectors properly. Changed the wiring loom, now hopefully it is fixed. Another little problem has now shown it's head.....I have just had the engine carbon cleaned and remapped. She is now at 220bhp..no problem. However, 2 days after this was done, she is now idling at 1000rpm. When I start her up she idles at the norm 750/800. As soon as I start driving and then pull up to a junction that's when the 1000rpm idle starts. I sometimes turn the engine off and restart. The same thing happens, idling fine until I pull up at another junction. It's driving me nuts... Any help would be greatly appreciated...
  15. No not yet, the garage still has it. He thinks it's an electronic fault. He says the electronic signal isn't getting to the injectors properly.
