  1. The dealer done a road test and identified the noise. But they don't want to spend time looking for the solution, as I refuse to pay that time and Skoda warranty only pays if the problem is found and fixed. So, since they have reported a few cars with the same noise, they are waiting some information from Skoda, or so they say and are just expecting that I get used to the noise, which I won't. Warranty in Portugal is 2 years unlimited km. I got a warranty extension to 5 years or 90.000km.
  2. I was thinking about this and somehow the only complaints about noise are related with SUV's. Audi Q3/Q5, VW Tiguan, Skoda Kodiaq. There are many other VAG models with DSG DQ500, and I never heard complaints about the noise we have in our SUV's. Now, would it be possible that, at least in most cases, the noise is not from DSG ? How about DMF ? And pm85 had his Kodiaq apparently fixed, check his last post. I always assumed the noise had to be related with the drivetrain, but there are more vibrations at low rpm, which can cause some parts to rattle against each other, like with pm85 Kodiaq. Last week my father was very angry with Nissan dealer, because his Nissan Qashqai had a serious rattle at very low rpm and dealer told him that there was no fix available and that the noise was normal. After some investigation, we found the rattle was located at the air intake pipes, which was a little loose and touched the chassis body. Some insulation tape and rubber pads later, the noise is gone. After searching for this problem in the internet I found out many Qashqai owners that couldn't get this problem fixed at the dealer and also Nissan doesn't seems to care about it. After pm85 reported his Kodiaq was fixed, I am wondering if the noise has a simple resolution, like the Qashqai.
  3. Yes, I sure can. I will ask for this on my Kodiaq too. Thanks for the video.
  4. That video would be really good to show at the dealer. Can you post a link to it, using some kind of cloud storage, like Dropbox, OneDrive or Google drive ? Just make sure one can see the maxidot and the infotainment screen at startup. Thanks!
  5. Are you sure that if you have it in ECO and shut it down, when you restart the Kodiaq the gearbox is still in ECO ?
  6. Hi, Yes, my DSG also holds the gear while braking downhill. It even shifts down sometimes. I believe this is normal, as we should always brake with the engine. Regarding point 2), my DSG also doesn't remember the last drive mode selected. It always starts in "Normal". I will report this next time at the dealer.
  7. Hi, I believe this issue has no solution from dealer yet. Anyway, if you have it solved, please let us know the solution. Thanks.
  8. Yes, I had already looked at that. This problem also affects VW Tiguan, in fact my Skoda dealer is also VW dealer and was aware of this issue with the VW Tiguan. Seems like VW is having a hard time finding a definitive solution. Dealer requested me to wait for another month.
  9. No problem, it may help someone else.
  10. Hi jasoncmiles, thanks for the info. In fact, my Kodiaq is not 4WD, so the noise source can't be the same as yours. I wish it was because it would be easier to solve with the information you have provided.
  11. The update is done. Took about 45 minutes. Thanks.
  12. Any news on the subject ? My brand new Kodiaq is doing the same, mainly in 1st and 2nd gears, below 2000 rpm.
  13. Can the maps be updated from SD card with the ignition off ?
  14. No anthracite options here in Portugal, too . Had to choose Sirius silver.
  15. Very good looking. Thanks for the photos. I will use Photoshop to make your Kodiaq laser white.
  16. Hi AndyH_NZ, Do you have some photos of the rims fitted to your Kodiaq ? I would like to trade my Triglav rims for something else, but Superb rims in 19" are all 8" width and Kodiaq 19" rims are 7" width, so I don't know ir they will fit without problems.
  17. Hi, Last July the Mrs and I decided to order a Skoda Kodiaq Style 2.0TDI 150bhp DSG. It will be a seven seater, because that's the only option available here in Portugal. The Kodiaq is expected to be delivered in mid December. Until then I expect to be reading, learning and talking to other Skoda owners. Greeting to all members of this great forum.
