  1. I mean, it's a 1.4, anything more than 2.5in is more than likely a waste of metal IMO. The performance aspect (if any) would come from having a straight through back box instead of the factory which loops back on itself and contains several baffled Chambers. I'm not looking to push 1000hp, just want a bit of noise going down the road 😄
  2. For anyone wondering, the exhaust comes with a 55 to 63.5mm joiner.
  3. I'm thinking of getting a cobra exhaust and I was just wondering if anyone else has fitted one? I can't see any information about how it joins to the car. I know you need to cut the factory pipe but does it come with a step ip from 55mm to 63? Thanks in advance
  4. So a couple months back the engine light started flashing on my Vrs intermittently. This was coupled with bad, all cylinder, misfires and poor performance. After replacing some parts the car started running like normal but then a few days later the engine light came on and held solid. After scanning it I found out it was a P0106. No misfires, sluggish power band ect. The only thing I've noticed is when coming to a stop, the engine has stuttered for a second. But this has only happened a couple of times. Also my MPG may have dropped a little, but it's hard to tell. I've been trying to diagnose the problem since it started, checking wiring, vacuum hoses, replacing map sensors and many hours of scouring through forums. The only thing that I've managed to find is a bit of chafing on hoses, but nothing that had worn through and one of the wires on a map sensor was snapped, I de-pinned the connector, bought a replacement pin and crimped it on. The car has done 45000 miles and is the CTHE. It's been to two garages that can't find any issues. The parts that have been replaced throughout all of the ordeal are 2 map sensors, the connector pins for one of the map sensors, 4 plugs, 4 coils, and the N75 valve. Feel free to ask for any more info, and thanks for the help everyone.
  5. The coolant level hasn't changed off the min line, I don't think it was drinking any.
  6. So I seem to have found the issue. After reading another post about plugs leading yo missfire I bought some new ones and gapped them down to 0.6mm. I've driven it around a bit and I can't feel any stutters or misfiring. Thanks for all the help everyone.
  7. Thanks for all the replies. Everything's a bit hectic right now so I haven't had a chance to sort it. The plugs were changed in December and I had no problems up until now when they were changed again and the issue is the same so I don't think it would be that. I'll look into getting a compression tester. It's been at a local garage for a week for them to tell me there's no fault codes so nothings wrong with it. They clearly haven't driven it...
  8. Its just at the min line. I don't remember it being that low so might’ve just started. Would that explain the misfire though?
  9. Hello all, Suprise, suprise I've got an engine problem with a mk2 Vrs... I've had the car for over a year and haven't had any issues up until now. She's on 42k and gets serviced regularly. It's a 63 plate so the CTHE engine. Over the last couple weeks I've had pretty bad problems with misfiring. It started off when I was giving it some beans in S, the engine light flashed up for a couple of seconds then turned off and it was a bit spluttery under acceleration. Nothing really happened for a couple of days and then it started missing on idle and now it's gotten pretty rough. When you start the car nothing happens but when it gets up to temperature it starts missing and I've recently noticed the exhaust is smoking a fair amount. It smells a bit rich and the smoke is white. I changed all 4 coils and plugs and plugged in an OBD reader. There's 5 codes reading "random misfire" "multiple cylinder misfire" "misfire cylinder 1...2...3...4" I've had a garage look at it and they don't know what's wrong with it so I thought I'd give you guys a shout. If you need any more info feel free to ask. Cheers, Alex
