  1. Go back to pages 13 14 15 that kind of area, read the description, 5Q0-713-128-A is the part you need to fix the problem for about £50 and it's pretty straight forward to fix with this part although you may need to get the error code cleared as well. It's pretty disgusting that this issue isn't a recall on all the VAG models that are blighted with the fault, this will only get bigger and bigger as cars get older I suspect, this is where a brilliant forum such as this comes in handy, I am no expert in these things but I read through the whole thread to the point where the part number and the photos showing the fix are, ordered the part and hey presto problem solved and posted up my thanks to the original member that came up with the solution. It would seem that the dealers are able to take advantage of a lot of people because they either don't have the time, or know how to search to a fix to this problem, best of luck to you all and thanks to everybody that takes the time to post these helpful fixes for our cars. Part number 5Q0-713-128-A you can get it from the dealer or auto factors.
  2. When you open up the Octavia you can't see the original switch, the switch you can see in the pictures in this thread is the part you need to fix the problem, I can't see why it wouldn't work for most DSG cars to be honest.
  3. Having bought the piggyback part and fitted it to the octavia, I can't see that it would be any different in the Superb TBH and I would have though it's worth the £50 for the part to try out, if it's not going to fit then I'm sure you will easily be able to sell it to somebody else with the same fault ? Is there anybody out there you can tell is the dsg selector is the same part number between models ?
  4. Thanks to GOJKONJEGOVPAS for advice on this, I called my local independent garage that I use and asked if they could get the part number, it came in next day and it took about 20 mins to fit, the error remained at first until all the error codes were cleared, I have had no problems since the part cost under £50 and I owe the guys some cider as they helped me fit the part on the day so I was very lucky. Thanks again to GOJKONJEGOVPAS cause that error was driving me crazy !
  5. Andy I have been lucky it seems, I was told to approach skoda UK and given a number by my local dealer, I explained the situation and said about the multiple cases on Briskoda, a few days later I got a call saying that it would be covered at no cost to me, it's a shame that that isn't the default response but a good outcome all the same, I hope you have the same outcome as it's clearly a fault on some cars, the flap on our 2014 octavia looks almost identical and now I'm scared to even touch it !
  6. Andy can I ask if have you approached The Motor Ombudsman ? Frankly I am shocked the level of customer service with this and another issue I have on a Octavia (DSG lever sensor error) I'm with you after many years of VAG ownership I have had enough.
  7. Another one here, I wish I had looked on briskoda before even bothering to go to my dealer ! "advised as the system is broken we are unable to claim this as a warrantable item" cost for repair £645.58 I am waiting for them to approach Skoda UK to see what can be done, I am not impressed at all and I am on the point of vowing never to go near a Skoda ever again.
  8. Just to update. I have today been to the local Skoda dealer, and after a bit of messing on the computer I was informed that there is a known fault on Superb Octavia and Yeti tailgates, it's something to do with the tailgate pin and going out of range for the button to work, either way a fault that need to be sorted. Thanks again for your help everybody.
  9. I'm in the UK, and no I don't have a button like that but mines a manual opening tailgate.
  10. Firstly thanks for all your help with this, I have been out with all three keys and tried everything, and the only way the tailgate will open is via the keyfob. I will take the car in to the dealer and get them to sort it out as it's very annoying ! Thanks again.
  11. Thanks for you reply, my car doesn't have either of these buttons.
  12. Thanks for you Reply SVEND, I've just been out and had a good play, changed options and reset locking back to factory, and I still can't open the tailgate unless I use the key even with all the other doors unlocked, I'm starting to think there is a fault with the pressure switch on the tailgate to be honest.
  13. Hi, I'm quite prepared to believe this is something I have done, but I'm not sure what, the other day I approached the car with a large box keys in my pocket as the car has KESSY, I tried to open the tailgate with the button on the tailgate and nothing. I have tried going into the infotainment settings but nothing seem to let be open the tailgate by hand, the only way is via the keyfob ! If anybody can help it would be much appreciated.
  14. Thanks Baverhanne, I'll stop looking for it then eh.
  15. Am I being Super stupid ? I thought this car was supposed to be a 7 speed DSG box ? Mine would appear to only have 6, the indicator only shows 6 and I can only hear 6 gears, am I missing something or missing a gear ?
