  1. My Favorit LS I sold 18 months ago - wish I'd have kept it! http://www.flickr.com/photos/skorob2008/5987912704/in/set-72157626125518939 Blue Magic Metallic Felicia 1.3 GLi currently breaking for spares http://www.flickr.com/photos/skorob2008/7937393426/in/set-72157630884965830 http://www.flickr.com/photos/skorob2008/7937381748/in/set-72157630884965830/ Current project -Black Magic Metallic 1.6GLXi. http://www.flickr.com/photos/skorob2008/8516299042/in/set-72157632877929965 http://www.flickr.com/photos/skorob2008/8531831452/in/photostream
  2. Because there's a hole in the dash where it used to be.......
  3. The difference between the $hiti Rover and the Skoda is that the Skoda will be built better than any of the other city cars on sale - including the VW versions - and will be modern, have desirability and have realistic selling prices, and not be some knock-off Tata. I think it's a great looking car, better than the UP! and Mii. Having seen various pics of the car on the road, not just in a studio, it's a lot nicer than some suggest. A 5 door will be here in Srpt 2012, the 3 door in June.
  4. But why do so many people insist on saying they have a Vrs or a VRs, and not a vRS? vRS is the correct terminology.
  5. It's basically a current shape Fabia with a boot, looks ok, but not what the UK market needs. The original booted Fabia didn't sell all that well here.
  6. Those figures are wayyyy off line. Skoda have sold a hell of a lot more vRS's in the UK than that. According to that, between 2001 and 2006, only 1805 were on the road - they sold more than that here in 2002 alone!
  7. Gotta love the chimneypot sticking out of the roof
  8. I have access to newspress and skodapress, the uk websites for journalists only.If you need any help, give me a pm. Skoda's market share is now over 2% of the UK market and rising. Can help you with most things as have owned and grew up with skodas from the 80's onwards.
  9. I was exactly the same - had posters of Rapids and Estelles all over my bedroom walls, hated everything that didn't have a winged arrow badge on it, and from the age of 13 - beack in 1985 - I started collecting Skoda registration numbers.....(I still do ) My first Skoda was a 78 105 S with retrimmed grey velour seats and a 120 LS engine that i resprayed red, ready for learning to drive in when I was 17. I did get the odd derogatory comment, including one from an old school pal who's chosen mode of transport was a 1972 Viva.(hahaha, old skoda he said, when at the time his car was 6 years older than mine - didn't make sense.) Now, 33 Skodas later, with my latest acquisition being a lovely grey Favorit LS, 1992, a real blast from the past as my last Skoda, a 1997 felicia GLXi back in 2004, I still wouldn't want any other make. Ive had Fords, Vauxhalls, Rovers, Peugeots, Citroens, Fiats etc, but no cars make me feel as good when I'm driving them as a Skoda does. This Favorit - the one you MOT'd, is being kept for years, and will next year be joined by Skoda 34, a used fabia, so i can keep the Favorits mileage down.
  10. Like Toyotas re-naming of the MR-2 in france - afterall, who wants a car called 'emerdeux' when it sounds just the same as merde, the french word for $hit!
  11. PM me your address and I'll gladly send you the whole mag free mate.
  12. The only colour code i can remember off by heart is 1001 Skoda white lol, mainly cos I had 2 Rapid 130's a 120 LSE and a 130 LSE in it Erm, anyone want to buy my stamp collection (joking).
  13. I had 3 boxes of skoda favorit and early Felicia brochures, road tests, price lists, press packs etc, but the ex's new boyfriend decided to have a bonfire and threw them on there before i had a chance to get them :'( .He was called every name under the sun, one of them sounding like cupid stunt! . Thought they were rubbish he said.....still, he does drive a 14 year old vectra so suppose he can be forgiven for being a pratt
  14. If its metallic blue, Its official name is star blue metallic. The other metallics were sea green - I had a 95 GLXiE Flairline that colour, the E being the higher compression engine dishing out 68 BHP, not the 54 BHP. That really made a difference to performance. Other metallics were silver for the silverline, and there was a met dark red for the Qualitaire Estate models. Standard colours were Swan White, Apollo Red, Sportline Red, Iris Blue, Royal Blue, and Carribean Green. Black was available but just for the BlackLine models.Later on, Ocean blue became available. I cant remember if there were any other colours, but those mentioned are for 93 onwards injection models. I'll take off my anorak now...................
  15. i dont know too much about the problem areas associated with Funs, but one area to check is the rear strut housings - they do tend to corrode badly if the car hasn't been looked after too well. Theres a chap on here with a Fun who I'm sure can help you more, Briggsy I think he's called.
  16. i've got a skoda owners club newsletter with a feature on snotty in it . Oldest Estelle in UK isn't it? Looks bloomin lovely
  17. Also try CPMS, 01733 324251 or he's on ebay, boroskoda -- he's got loads of Estelle and Rapid stuff and also is an experienced ex Skoda mechanic.
  18. Same car, at a traders, trying to pass it off as his sons...........http://www.classiccarsforsale.co.uk/classic-car-page.php/carno/78919
  19. That 130 L Sport lived by me in Peterborough for most of its life, remember seeing it around lots of times.D879FYE was a black 130 Rapid Cabrio. The 0-60 time was more like 12.5 seconds, Skoda were sooooo optimistic there....it was 15.5 secs official for a standard 58 bhp 130, so 17 more bhp aint going to whach 5.5 secs off the time lol. Bags of fun though.
  20. Does the reg number start GN03K??, the first of the Skoda UK vRS's were GN03K--, and I think GN03KKL was one Colin McRae is pictured with in a press photo for Skoda Motorsport.
  21. All makes have a 'lemon' fall through the system once in a while, you are just unlucky to have found one. Skoda do so well because they are good cars, you just need to press your dealer harder to fix the car or reject it - you are within your rights to do this.Skoda customer service does leave a lot to be desired and you do need to get harsh sometimes to get matters resolved.
  22. Never read it, but have read some of the other books - A Century of the Fastest Skoda Cars, L&K Skoda Parts 1 & 2 etc. They are the best ones. All have really good sections on the RWD Skodas, and especially the Rallying models. If you send an email to Skoda-auto.com (Not Skoda UK), via their contact page, and request copies, they will send them free - I've had 3 copies of each sent to 3 different addresses so far.
  23. Sell 10 new Octy vRS's at £16,997 each and do a runner with the cash..........the £9,997 left could pay for the insurance:rofl:
  24. Anyone notice the morse code beeps and flashes whilst the Stig was driving the Abarth round the track? Apparently, throughout the series they are going to use Morse Code to take the p1$$ out of Strictly Come Dancing! Watched last weeks show but missed the morse code???
