Thanks sounds like it could have possibly got wet then, hopefully will be ok now. Did your airbag light stay on?

Hi, went to to use my car yesterday morning and noticed the screen that displays the mpg etc just had blurred lines, I proceeded to start the car as normal it fired up fine but only ran for a second or 2 didn’t have time to have a look then so left it came back about 45 mins later and the screen was back to normal and the car started fine and ran but no lights or dials working on the instrument cluster, I left it running and plugged in a generic obd2 reader which came up with no faults. After a minute of running all the lights and dials fired back up but the airbag light stayed on, Ive done about 80 miles since the fault occurred and has run perfect anyone have any ideas what this could have been and is it likely to happen again. I was thinking it could be due to water getting in somewhere as I went through a puddle on Tuesday but it wasn’t a really deep one and ran fine after and Wednesday too also all fuses and under bonnet are dry. Turned out it was my wifi adapter that wouldn't work with this vehicle worked on others though so very odd. Managed to find one that works I'll post images below. Thanks for all help and advice.

Thanks I'll wait for the cable to come and give it a try if not ill buy the one that's works for you and try that. The one I have is the middle one in the picture with 3 in.

Thanks just ordered the cable to try with my adapter, I'll also try a Bluetooth one I have with another phone to see if it's my wifi adapter as the Bluetooth one doesn't fit in at the minute. Thanks for info.

Yes I can connect to the wifi obd it just doesn't connect to the dash command app

Thanks I will try to give it a good shove in lol. The light comes on so it must be getting power but I guess all pins are not connecting.

Hi I have just purchased a elm327 wifi obd reader and the iPhone dash command software I can get it working fine with other vehicles but when plugged into my Octavia it lights up but won't connect is there a specific obd adapter I need or does anyone have any ideas why it's not connecting. Thanks.

Hi just bought a 08 Octavia mk2 1.9tdi dsg and found a receipt for a Revo remap the previous owner had done taking it from 105bhp to 145bhp was wondering what the 0-60 time would be on it now? Also would it have improved mpg too? Sorry if it sounds like a newbie question lol. Thanks.
