  1. Getting petrol today and someone reversed into our Superb. Didn't actually see the impact but I felt it as the car rocked hard when he hit us. I was sat in the passenger seat and my husband was about to put fuel in the car (at the petrol station). The damage is not dreadful I think, hard to tell because it was gloomy and the car was wet, and the car is dark brown. Certainly the rear door is dented in. Told our insurer and hope the guy is insured as he says he is. Thing is, I hate it when bodywork repairs are done badly. I know it's just a car but I drive past a car each day which has a repaired read door, a silver car, and it looks awful because the paint doesn't match properly. One of the reasons we got this specific car is because it looks so pretty, we really love the dark brown paint on our L&K and it looks really clean and we want it to stay that way. Where is the best place to go? Local bodywork place, or dealer, or what? Years ago my new at the time car was ruined by some bad bodywork that a dealer (Vauxhall) did. I just want to avoid that and get a really good job done hope it doesn't look bad. Any advice gratefully recieved.
  2. I can't avoid short trips sometimes. I have periods where for a month it is mainly short trips. Others where it is more a mix including several long runs. But no matter what it seems locked in 100 mile regens now even though I do my best to let the regens complete when it wants one. It used to be more like double that, and I think it started when a regen was missed once or twice in a row. Just seems to have got itself in a mess even though the regen is complete now and has been complete several times. Can the system be reset? I do use the app but not religiously, it's just not practical to always let the car dictate when it wants a run when I have somewhere I have to be. In terms of the oil, sounds like maybe it is a result of regens not completing then but I worry it could be something else. Can't be good for it. It is changed every year even though the book says every two. The right oil. I had it changed recently, and within a week or two the oil level was too high.
  3. Previous owner had the "fix" applied almost 2 year's ago. I've been thinking about having a rollback but not yet done it. Before the 2 year warranty they give on the fix runs out I figure it's a good idea to get it looked at for any emissions related damage. Whats-more, the car has been doing regens every 100ish miles lately so it does not seem right and there is loads of diesel contamination in the oil with the level being over the limit. Is this something I can take it to Skoda for and get them to check it over? I seem to recall there is a specific number to call or something like that for emission related stuff?
  4. Pretty sure I have diesel contamination in my oil. To be honest I haven't checked the level for a few thousand miles until just now and it's well above the high line. It was definitely at the correct level before. My DPF regen has been upset lately after it got interrupted a couple of times and as a result it's been doing regens way too often which I probably will need to take it to dealer to sort out somehow. I suspect it's related, I seem to remember reading something along these lines on here about it?
  5. You're an honest bunch. I thought someone else must have done something stupid like me but wasn't sure anyone would admit to it. I feel very reassured. I'll obviously take it to a garage when I can and get it checked over - will report back.
  6. Well yeah, of course, but what I mean is what kind of protection is there under there? Is anything known to be particularly vulnerable? Has anyone done the same in the past and what was the outcome? Local garage isn't open because of the snow, and the conditions aren't good so I'm going to have to wait to go further afield.
  7. Didn't know it was there, hidden by the snow. Should have been more careful. Hit it hard enough to just about go over it, leaving it between the front and back wheels. Then managed to get the rear wheels over without too much trouble, but I'm wondering if I might have damaged anything - the wheels perhaps, but what about the underside? Can't get under to look because of the thick snow!
  8. Mine is a 2014, and I love it. The brown is great, in my opinion. It's very dark paint, looks almost black but not quite as boring. And the interior brown is very nice too. Mine has been good so far in the year I've had it. The water pump did fail last year right after I bought it which I blame VAG for. Not an uncommon problem, them failing early. But generally excellent car so far.
  9. I get annoyed when places do this. Had a problem on my old car from a tyre change place causing damage to the sill. Is there some fool-proof instruction Superb owners should give these places to tell them where to correctly jack the car?
  10. good luck, hope they find something simple and not too expensive.
  11. Thanks @VWGDT it was back at the beginning of the year that we had the problems, all sorted some time ago with a new AGM battery. After that there was no parasitic drain. The old battery is sitting in the garage and seems to be fine, the car just didn't like it because it was lead acid, as you pointed out.
  12. Thanks for posting about it and showing the photos. Although mine is a hatchback not a combi, as the rear battery was intended for the V6 which is also an option on the hatchback, the studs should be present on mine too, I am guessing. That's good because I was put off by the idea that I'd have to drill holes which I really didn't want to do. Presumably the tray was not already in place under the liner, but you ordered that and installed it?
  13. 19" wheels on mine. If I changed them for smaller I presume I'd have to inform insurance as a modification. Any one got any experience of what impact, if any, it has on premiums?
  14. Probably not a lot, but I said powered 24/7 not recording 24/7.
