    30,000 service

instead of ^'^' they should simply put 60k at the side of fuel filter, but then nobody would prob have a service with them, so like you say clever get out of jail free card, took me ages to get a straight answer from them as to when it would be changed

    30,000 service

i asked Skoda UK about fuel filter, manufacturers service regime is to change it at 60,000 miles, so i think their website is misleading to say the least why have it on the major service list if thee is no way it's going to be done
  3. booked in for major service next week, i spoke to Skoda UK and they confirmed it should be a major service and oil changed during that, not separately, i've told dealer that i spoke to Skoda UK
  4. i've done about 6,700 miles since i got it, will speak to dealer and make sure they do major service and change it to fixed service regime, thanks for the advice x
  5. it was 12 months old when i got it in June last year, they changed the oil as they say it flagged up before i took it home, will speak to dealer about it and defo get it in writing and reset, won't be having oil change at Skoda getting it done by my mechanic of 20 years, 20,00 mile/24 month service will be done by Skoda as i have a good will gesture of a free service for all the messing about i have had getting the door locks to work correctly and trying to sort infotainment system out thanks guys x
  6. oil inspection and service flagged up today, due in 30 days, car is due 2 year/20,000 mile service in about 2.5k miles, do i have to have the oil service done to keep car in warranty or can i wait and have it done at major service
  7. i was cleaning the boot so defo didn't knock button and turn on accidentally, turned itself off after a while. They are now thinking it's a faulty head unit as i have other problems, they updated software on a Weds for the reverse screen sometimes not working on the Monday it didn't work again, going back in YET again
  8. has anyone had an issue with the radio turning itself on when the keys are NOT in the ignition, it's happened 3 times, the 3rd time i was cleaning the car on my drive and the keys were on my doorstep
  9. Manchester Skoda failed to fix my door lock problem, simply telling me there was no problem, when there was. Brian at Skoda Eccles got to the bottom of the problem and sorted it he couldn't have been more helpful, bought car from Manchester dealership, i will be using Eccles from now on
  10. i got one of these, just arrived, not fitted it yet, good quality and side airbag compatible https://www.seatcoversuk.co.uk/skoda-octavia-front-seat-covers-2013-to-now.html
  11. thank you, dam that means skoda don't make car seat covers to fit my car lol x
  12. I don't have a CD player but only one SD card slot for music so will my Octavia 16 plate reg May 25th be a MY15 or MY 16
  13. i've got an Octavia it was reg 25th May 2016, guessing it was built beginning ish of May or before, so will it be MY15 or MY16, asking because i am looking at car seat covers that are only suitable for up MY15 cars
  14. Skoda CS are doign me proud at the moment, 1st dealer told me couldn't replicate fault so did nothing, i got on twitter and tweeted a video of me replicating fault CS spoke to different dealer, who rang me back, unlike the 1st dealer i went to, a courtesy car was arranged CS has rang after each step to make sure things are being done, fingers crossed this dealer sorts my problems, they certainly sound like they are gonna have a dam good go, booked my car in for 2/3 DAYS unlike 1st dealer who had it for less than 4 hours . update is, i seem to have 3 tec guys on my side and one not, Skoda uk are gonna check who is telling me the truth about if paperwork has be logged when fault with door locks was replicated, another tec guy has asked me to video faults when they happen, so i have, so the tec guy who has worked on my car is gonna have to admit there is a problem. Skoda UK are defo on the ball for me and are going to ring me back next week with an update if you ask Skoda UK to call you at a specific time so you don't miss the call, they do
  15. am i reading this right, i think the important line in manual is The renewed unlocking of the doors and the boot lid is carried out when the ignition key is removed or when the door is opened from inside (depending on the individual setting for the central locking system). i read it as once automatic lock has kicked in when driving and car is set to single lock that only driver door should be unlocked when i stop and get out of drivers door, below is what manual says All doors This function allows you to unlock all doors, the boot lid and the fuel filler flap. Single door The function allows you to unlock only the driver's door and the fuel filler flap with the radio remote control. KESSY allows the unlocking of a single door which is in the vicinity of the key, as well as the fuel filler flap. The other doors and the boot lid are only unlocked once the door handle is unlocked or touched. Doors on a vehicle side This function enables you to unlock both doors on the driver's side and the fuel filler flap with the radio remote control unit. KESSY allows the unlocking of both doors which are in the vicinity of the key, as well as the fuel filler flap. The other doors and the boot lid are only unlocked once the door handle is unlocked or touched. Automatic locking/unlocking This function enables the locking of all doors and the boot lid from a speed of 15 km / h. Opening the doors and the boot lid from the outside is not possible. The renewed unlocking of the doors and the boot lid is carried out when the ignition key is removed or when the door is opened from inside (depending on the individual setting for the central locking system).
  16. my octavia is booked in for 2/3 days next week to sort out the quirky errors that have cropped up, the tech guy afreed with me the battery could be the problem for some of the fault messages, i will let you know if they say it is and what they do about it, my car is 12 months old
  17. well that was the waste of a day off work Skoda Manchester said they couldn't replicate any of the faults, prob couldn't with door locks as they didn't listen when i said it was when i get out after driving, they said couldn't find fault with stop start, even though i told them it kicks in as soon as i move off when the engine is cold, even on frosty days it also kicks in after reversing, i rang to speak to service, they said they would call back, still waiting anyway, ANOTHER call to Skoda UK CS and they get another dealer to call me, they call on Fri, they said book it in, i said off tomorrow, Saturday, they said bring in at 10am, Manchester refused to do a diagnostic on a Sat, told tec guy of problems, including infotainment screen, and he instantly had ideas what could be wrong, and finally someone admitted there are things wrong, it is now booked in for 2/3 days on 5th Dec..... the saga continues lol
  18. well that was a waste of a day off work, they have done NOTHING, waiting for service dept to ring me back so they can tell me how they tested the door locks, they say they couldn't replicate the problem, another dealer managed to, not a happy customer that's for sure, looking forward to the call back from Skoda UK on Thursday x
  19. Skoda has just collected my car, gave them a list of problems, inc door lock problem, stop start problems, infotainment screen problem, and a new one, radio turned itself on while i still had the keys in my hand, it has happened once before but thought i was going mad lol happened with my friend in the car last night, so i had a witness ha ha. I will let you know what they have to say when they bring it back tonight
  20. it is booked in on the 21st november, i will give you an update when i get it back, i have an issue with the stop start being a tad irratic, the girl booking my car in said it's not the first time i've heard this, first time finally it is being rec as a problem and not trying to blame me, if they think i will just give up, they picked the wrong girl lol the more they try to fob me off the more determined i get. Skoda customer services have been great, called me back today like she said she would, to see if i had been contacted by dealer, told her no, she called dealer and i got a call within a few hours, she is calling back tomorrow to make sure i've been contacted by dealer x
  21. Skoda UK customer services are now involved and are speaking to the dealer for me and are arranging for it to go in to try and find the faults, get me some answers and hopefully fix the problems
  22. i bought it from a dearship it had a previous owner, it's on a 2016 plate, i am begining to think the dealer knew it had problems when i bought it in june. Skoda just don't seem to be able to answer any of my questions, i have also told them that when i set screen on infotainment system to since last start for example, it will stay on that sometimes, after i have turned off and restarted car, other times it will change to another screen, for example green score, their answer... no idea if it should stay on same screen most people leave it set on radio screen, told him i don't want that
  23. i have door locks set to single door opening, sometimes when i get out after driving i find that all the doors inc boot are unlocked, and sometimes all the other doors are locked, i have the autolock on, so far Skoda techs are just saying they have no idea why, they tried to tell me single door means all doors are unlocked, i pointed out if this is the case there is still a problem as sometimes all the other doors are locked when i get out, i checked manual, i was right, driver door should be the only one to unlock when i get out. Has anyone got any ideas please, i know there was a recall on childlocks not working sometimes but not sure this would mean boot would also be unlocked if this is the problem
