  1. I'm very happy with my 1.4 tsi sel dsg 67 plate just over 11k miles average mpg is 48, it's faster than my old astra gtc 2.0 cdti sri manual it gives better mpg and is more comfortable but not as much fun. If I had to get another car I'd probably get the same again as I can't think of anything better.
  2. There has been loads of issues with Google play services recently. It may work if you clear the data and cache in Google play services I've had to do this to use bt sport app and some map applications so may be of help.
  3. On my face-lift se-l the dash only illuminates dimly when started it only brightens when the light switch is in auto or with the headlights turned on, in the off position or sidelight position the dash is dim.
  4. My phone worked fine with the oneapp using a mobile WiFi device to connect to the car and phone but I've now removed the app as it tracks too much info for my liking ie max speed travelled at and where and when. Don't want to make it easier for the police.
  5. My Octavia is a motability lease car and as I live in a village with no shops, doctors, or any other amenities it tends to do lots of miles my last 3 motability cars all did about 20k a year just doing hospital visits shopping and getting me out the house so I don't die of boredom.
  6. Thanks all sorted now, it had managed to not save the tick in the speed camera poi box but had the traffic light camera box. How easy is it to edit the camera locations as there is one traffic light camera I know of which is no longer in existence and I know of a speed camera not on the list.
  7. Thanks for sharing your new version, but I'm not sure what I've done wrong but I deleted the old ones and installed your new version. I now don't get a icon for camera's but I do still get the notification tone. Any ideas what I've missed or done wrong.?.
  8. I've come from a volvo v40 with bi-xenon and cornering feature to a Octavia se-l with led lights and I find the led much better I only wish the front fog lights matched as they look a horrible yellow colour in comparison.
  9. It's not just VAG cars my last car a volvo v40 cc with xenons did exactly the same.
  10. Mine keeps telling me that the A134 in Colchester is closed when it isn't, I only get the issue when connected to skoda connect if it's not connected the sat nav doesn't tell me the roads closed.
  11. Back in 2010 I had a 320d msport hire car for 9 weeks it went well and was quiet but the ride was the worst I've ever experienced every small imperfection in the road felt like a hole, driving on a concrete dual carriageway vibrated the whole car. In comparison my Octavia with torsion bar suspension is pure luxury.
  12. When I picked up my new Octavia the dealership informed me that the skoda connect servers were having issues and I might not be able to connect to it straight away it took several hours before I could log in.
  13. I've come from a volvo v40 cc with multi link suspension and 17" wheels and the new Octavia 1.4 tsi sel dsg with 17" alloys and torsion bar suspension is much more comfortable smother ride much better over bumps. I also worried about getting the Octavia but it's much better than every seems to imply.
  14. Picked my up yesterday evening. Very happy with it so far.
