  1. Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone could help me. I’m after a Haynes manual for my 2014 1.6 tdi Octavia, and can’t find one. In the past I have bought manuals with the same engine code as my other cars, eg my 2004 leon with ARL engine is roughly the same as the golf manual. Is there a manual which covers the CAYC engine? Just throwing it out there in case anyone else has done the same and could point me in the right direction. Thanks Tim

  3. Mine didn’t have any warning lights on and the level was fine, drove ok, only thing was the start of some belt squeak which made me look into it, if it wasn’t for that I wouldn’t have known. All you can do is keep an eye/ear open, sorry I can’t be of much more help than that!
  4. What did the garage say? We’re there any fault codes logged? And has it only happened the once so far?
  5. Hi everyone, I saw this on the forum and thought I would reply. • 2014 • 1.6 TDI (CLHA) • Approx 96,000 miles •Dealer response / warranty - I didn’t take it to a dealer due to age and mileage! I first noticed a belt squeak noise before going on a drive, had a quick look and didn’t think it was auxiliary belt related. When I came back I lifted the cam belt cover slightly and could see the water pump, every now and then stop (although the belt was still running). The car has done around 96000 miles so knew this was something that needed to be done in the near future. I stripped the car down and the water pump was solid. I took a video which I will try and post, also some photos of rubber build up on the pump pulley. If any ones is going to try and attempt this repair, be warned the cam belt cover is an absolute bitch to get off due to a/c pipes and dpf in the way. With the engine mount off I lowered the engine, it helped slightly but was still a struggle! I had no coolant loss, rough running or temp rise, only symptom was the belt noise. New belt and pump fitted and every thing seems ok now. I hope this helps someone in a similar position!
  6. Hi guys, I was wondering if you could help me, iv just bought an Octavia 3 with the CLHA engine. The car is due a service soon and didn't know if anybody would know the part numbers for the oil, fuel, air and pollen filters and also for the engine oil. I also run a Mk1 Seat Leon which I use the Quantum long life oil (gold can), would this be ok for the Skoda? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
