New to the thread, little late on the topic.... Bought a 2006 Octavia tdi 1.9 Pd 105 DSG 96,000 miles, 2 owners averaged around 7000 a year from new.... changed oil and filters, mpg on a hilly 15 mile commute to work is 50-55mpg... On a motorway at 60-65 mph GPS indicated I was getting 60-65mpg which I think is quite realistic for the computer.... Well now I’ve taken advantage of remap courtesy of Remap Kings, November £100 off all remaps, the car is running 140hp but I think that is quite conservative..... The car honestly pulls like a trooper now, it’s no bmw M car I understand but I’ve surprised a few VRS drivers with the DSG transmission.... I’ve even managed to record a 0-60 time of 8.4 seconds and a quarter mile of 17.2 seconds, I truly believe I can get a very low 8 0-60 time as the traction light was flickering in 1st 2nd and 3rd being in the wet.... Personally I think Remap kings figures are understated as it feels more like 150/160hp.... Regarding economy town driving MPG after remap has dropped from low 50’s to about 45. Motorway about 5-7 mpg also speed dependent... Just needs polybushing now and a coil over setup fitting, oh and maybe some decent braking hardware.... 😂
