  1. HI! Since this is the first Octavia that I own (and I haent driven others) I cant really compare. Since I got the car mid january and live in Sweden I've had winter tires (Goodyear Ultragrip ICE 2 205/50R17) on from day 1 and since they are softer, higher profile and not so wide as the summer ones maybe its hard to know how much they dampen the road and bump noise. I have tried the DCC a couple of time and you do feel difference between the modes but on winter surface I mainly have it on normal. My car came with the Double-sided boot mat wich is quite thick so that may have an effect on the sound/resonance as well + a have the Canton sound system with the woofer in the back and I alaways have music playing so... My previous car was a Mercedes A Class 200d MY2016 and i dont find the Octavia louder, then of course i went from Diesel to Petrol... I can confirm that the 1.5 with DCC comes with torsion bar... //Hagge
  2. Ah, sorry then I misunderstood the issue people were having. Thought it was with the care connect app itself and not an wifi/hotspot/tethering issue..my bad //H
  3. Hi! As I've written earlier in this thread I got it working on Android quite well. I'll see if I can borrow my GF's iPhone and test on that during the weekend to see if the iOS version of the app is the culprit! //H
  4. Hi! I got my new Octavia delivered monday this week (built week 51 I think). I struggled with this a bit the first days as well. My car came with a Carstick LTE (without sim card) so this added to the confusion. I dont know if things work differently in diff countries (I live in Sweden) but this is what I've figured out so far. Using the LTE stick or using your phone as hotspot is used for accessing internet via the Infotainment System, stuff like weather, news, nav updates etc. May be used for more stuff as well. The Skoda Connect/car part actually uses its own connetion with a Sim via something called OCU2 - more info in this link: http://ws.skoda-auto.com/TechnicalLexicon/print_techlex.aspx?itemid=484&language=7 The way I got the car parts working was to create an account at skoda-connect.com and once in there you get a code (eight digits I think) that you use to activate the feature in the car by entering the code actually sitting in the car. So I got it working. I can remotely see the status of my car, control the auxiliary heater (like I said, Sweden....), parking position etc. See attached screenshots from the Skoda Connect App Hope this helps in getting the Care part working at least! //Hagge
  5. Yes that has been my stand point as well and that was the reason for me to go with DCC in the first place. I just got confused by the article since it said (based on the so so google translate) that Multilink was a prerequisite for DCC...so I got my hopes up.... But thanks for clearifying. I will get my car on monday so I'll just get on my knees and double check //H
  6. Hi! Can anyone who has gotten their 1.5 TSO EVO delivered shed some light over the rear suspension (torsion bar vs multilink). Read an article online y-day from a german site: http://www.meinauto.de/testberichte/skoda-octavia-combi-clever-im-test-2017-sparen-mit-dem-sondermodell And if you translate half way down it says that the DCC option is only available on models/engines with 150hp or more.. "..The adaptable chassis builds Skoda only with the engines from 150 hp, because only with them comes behind a multi-link axle for use..." Is this true? The 1.5 has the DCC option (I actually added it to my order). Does that mean that is has multilink or what? //HaggeJr
  7. I got a mail response from the head of PR at Skoda Sweden today. Ok, prob not the most technical guy maybe but he should have the facts straight and he said that the 1.5 TSI is in fact paired with the dry clutch DQ200. He didnt however provide me with any "proof" that this is the case. This is the second Skoda representative in Sweden (the first one was a sales manager at a Dealer in the south of Sweden) that has stated that its the DQ200.
  8. The info I got from a Dealer in Sweden is that the 1.5 TSI EVO in the Octavia will be paired with a dry clutch DSG7 but the Superb will get a new wet clutch. This tipped my choice to order the manual gearbox when ordering my 1.5 TSI (yesterday). If this info is wrong I'll be seriously ****ed because if its a wet clutch I woudl have gone for the DSG. Can you provide some kind of link/photo of brochure/document that shows that the 1.5 TSI is paired with a wet clutch DSG7 and I will be eternally grateful
  9. Plus its a VGT, Variable Geometry Turbo.
  10. I'll answer myself here... got a response from a local Skoda dealer here in Sweden and he confirmed that the DSG fitted with the 1.5 TSI/EVO is (unfortunately) the DQ200. That's prob a deal breaker for me, too bad because the new engine looked promising and I had my mind set on a Octavia...
  11. Hi, has anyone been able to find any info on this, if the DSG fitted with 1.5 TSI EVO/ACT is the dry clutch DQ200 or not?
