  1. Yeah i could of sword he would fine something, oh well happy days! yeah I too am waiting for my new motor now, chased it up yesterday but apparently the dealer is not delivering yet. Hopefully soon. What did you go for in the end?
  2. So I have the dreaded inspection today, was a bit worried on a few items. I posted on here a while ago that I had a kerbed alloy. I thought it might be worse than the guidelines say. Then my 2 front tyres seemed a bit low on tread but still within the limit. Also last night I went on a final blast and just before I got home I had a check coolant light come on, oops. Anyway bloke got me out of bed and I was waiting for the ok, found xyz. Came to the door, no charge sir! Phew!
  3. Ive emailed the company I ordered it through and just waiting to hear back. Although reluctantly I think ive decided to get it collected and use my wifes car. Then in the hope that the lockdown eases and I can get my new one delivered Yeah ive asked VWFS this question but they havent replied yet. Only have a skeleton staff in i assume.
  4. Scotty, yeah I had a text from BCA yesterday to say i can either extend or get them to do a contactless inspection/collection. So now im in too minds as my new car (Volvo V60) is ready but the dealer is not delivering yet. Im in two minds, I can return it and have no car for an unknown period or extend the lease for 3 or 6 months in the hope the lockdown eases and the dealer can deliver. I must say with the quiet roads I have been enjoying the benefits of the 245! All within legal limits of course! So thinking do I eeek out as much fun as I can or say bye to it! Choices choices! I do have the use of my wifes car but going from a 245 to a Nissan note would be some change!
  5. Yeah ive gone for the petrol auto. I got a really good deal at the time so will be a change. Its just annoying thats it sat somewhere and I cant get my paws on it. 1st world problems eh!
  6. Yeah i dont want to extend but I need a car as im a key worker. My new car is ready but they of course cant deliver it. Went for a Volvo V60. I know im going to miss the VRS poke!
  7. Hi Scotty, yeah I will ask them again about the T&Cs. Yeah monthly rental the same
  8. Hi Scotty, did your car go back yet? With the current situation we all know that BCA are closed and not collecting. I got a bit confused as my car is due to go back mid may. I asked VWFS and they replied saying I could have an informal 3 month extension but on their website it said 6 months. I replied and they said they are now offering 6 month extensions. That raises other questions such as if I agree to 6 and then things improve and the lockdown eases, am I still committed to 6 months etc. I have another car ive ordered which is ready but of course cant be delivered (Non skoda)
  9. Im wondering with the latest gov announcement, what will happen about mine being picked up. Is the bca bloke still going come to do the inspection etc?
  10. Hi all, not that I am going to keep my car (although what happens with cars going back now?) I thought id see how much I could buy mine for £16.075 with 14.2 on the clock
  11. Mine is the same model, got it in May 18. They contact you about a month before I believe? So for me will be mid april
  12. Yeah I remember this well when I had the inspection in my previous car. Noticed the day before the bloke came a massive crack down the middle of the windscreen! They stung me for £260! If id have had time to fix it myself I could have got it done on insurance! On the upside the bloke missed a big crack on one of the rear lights! Going to risk it and hope I get away lightly for my wheel! Mine has just over 14k on it and goes back in May so assume it would be worth similar to yours.
  13. Really!? Only reason I put it on was I had a puncture a while back and the garage said at the time they didnt have any of the others but had a Nexen. Surely its the equivalent in speed rated etc etc but I assume not in terms of price!
  14. Hi All, sorry to change topic slightly but my PCH 245 will be going back in May. When they take it back does it go back to the dealer I got it from and then they sell it on? Or as it technically belongs to the finance company do they just send it to auction? Also I have the dreaded inspection looming, can I get advice on what to do with one of my wheels please..... I fear they will sting me bigtime if I leave it til the inspection? Can i get it fixed or worst case is it a new wheel?
  15. I test drove one of these as my lease is up in May but felt so claustrophopbic compared to the 245. The estate version would be better but obviously more expensive. Plus the new model is coming anytime now. Found a good deal on a Volvo V60 so may be going that direction
  16. ive just got used to the size of the octavia. I test drove a Cupra Leon Hatch and its just so small in comparison. I know I dont really need a huge car for the miles I do and loads I move about but the size you get used to. Ive test driven a Mazda CX5, 6. Volvo V60 and recently a Superb. Im torn between them all but I want auto next and depending on which the lease costs vary widely. The volvo is coming out top at the mo but as standard you get some goodies but have to pay extra for others. The mazda 6 was nice and comes with huge amount as standard but in auto form its big bucks
  17. My lease is up in May but not thinking of buying. I fancy a new shape Octavia maybe but I know the new VRS wont be til the end of the year so cant wait til then. I test drove a Superb last weekend and was impressed. I think I need something a bit more sensible that the VRS as I value my licence too much and I cant give in to temptation!
  18. Not sure how many buy a 245 to save fuel! I bought it for a bit of fun and the practicality. Fuel usage wasnt top of my list. Each to their own!
  19. I called Skoda finance and they said I have to use main dealer. That will learn me.....!
  20. So booked mine in for a service at the local (ish) main dealer, they collected it which I know I pay for. I get a text with a link to a video that shows a technician showing the car and pointing out tyre depth etc etc. Never had this before but thought a nice touch. Of course again I know I pay for all this but end of the day I didnt have a choice
  21. Yeah size wise there is no comparison to the vRS, but it goes back next may and need to look for alternatives
  22. Had a drive of the Cupra yesterday, hatchback version and yeah was pretty pokey! But noticeably smaller than the Octy. But was drawn to the estate version which has 4WD. There is also a hotter version the Cupra R which has 365!
  23. Just reading the cupra forums and looks like people that ordered are in the same boat as we all were when ordering the 245, waiting and waiting, oh joy!
