  1. Hi All, does anyone know a good place in the vicinity of Dundee to repair deep scratches in my paintwork. Some jealous %$^&((*&^%$£* decided to scratch my driver rear wing over the fuel flap and onto rear door above handle... twice! Why do people feel the need to desecrate that which they cannot attain by their own means??? Bring back flogging! Or scourging would be even better!!!
  2. Hey Chris, there are no signs of any damage at all, I checked the paintwork round the entire area and nothing seems to be amiss. That was my first thought also! My dad reckoned it was a hinge fault and the garage mentioned to fix it it 100% it would need to go into a bodyshop (not sure if warranty covers that?!?), the husband spoke to them unfortunately so I never got the full story or to ask the questions Id like to have! As for the rest of the niggles cheers for all the replies, makes me feel better (slightly) that its not just me and my terrible luck to get a dodgy car!!! Im sure working away by myself and asking questons on here Ill get to know my way around it better to do things DIY, whilst I still have warranty however I want to use their time as mich as possible!
  3. Hi all really new to this so bear with me! Had my vRS since march now new out of showroom and lots of little things have bothered me. The first was the the bonnet was raised slightly at the top drivers side corner by about 1-1.5cm. The garage fixed this to the best of their abilities but informed me that it would need to go to a body shop to be properly fixed so that the bonnet sits flush. Shouldnt this have been noticed at car inspection prior to leaving the manufacturer? I had the linkage fixed after 3000 miles, is this odd or a normal problem with the vRS? After another 500 miles the same knocking in the gear stick became more pronounced again and I assumed the same problem, after returning to the garage they informed me that this is normal and caused by the fuel supply being reduced when in neutral to improve economy. Has anyone else encountered a rattly gear stick? The next little thing was my fuel cap wouldnt lock after a trip to the petrol station, it took seconds to fix but surely the lock shouldnt sieze on a five month old car? Also the garage is a bit of a trek so it is most inconvenient and fuel heavy to keep having to drive there!!! I just want to ask these things because I had a fair few probs with my old Fabia 1.4 before I got the vRS and I really dont want to loose faith in the Skoda badge! I love my vRS and any advice is welcome!!!
  4. Are you guys serious!!! I had tears streaming down my face by the time Jeremy turned up with the bloated cow on the car!!! And the shower... hysterical!!! I agree if I wanted to watch boring test drives Id watch 5th gear, it was a great change of scenery and once again great to see the americans confirm the stereotypes!!! Btw, anyone know when they are supposed to check out the new VRS?
  5. After slow service in my more local dealer I came here and within days had my car ordered up. Great staff, really attentive to individual needs, really went out of their way to make it work for me. Also had a great chat with the MD too, very personable guy!!! If your local to this area and have a choice I'd recommend Thompson & Potter Ltd Burrelton over other local dealers in this area any day! Good luck!
  6. Have visited this dealership both times I have sought to buy a Skoda and both times found them quite slow to respond. First time I was promised a test drive but ended up waiting over a week for a call back, by that time I'd already found a better cheaper car elsewhere. The second time (2 years later) when wanting to upgrade to a VRS I called for a test drive but when I arrived 10mins later the car wasnt available as promised. Out of place comment about another dealer deleted by DGW.
  7. Dont worry! Ill be treating my baby with much more respect than the demonstrator!!! As for the speed cameras I've opted for cruise control so as long as I remember to use it I should be ok! Was amazed with the car, where Id never dream of overtaking with my 1.4 the VRS just eases past in seconds and you dont even realise how quick you are really going! Can anyone give me a guestimate on the running costs of the Fabia VRS? Any tweaking problems etc? Had a few with my old Fabia and hoping not to be suprised with the new one! Also Ive never had a black car before and have heard its a handfull to maintain, any tips on how to maintain it? I live in a flat on a busy road so full works can be hard to carry out! Cheers for the warm welcome! Ill keep you updated as to when I get it... Cant wait!!!
  8. Hi all, I have owned a Skoda Fabia 1.4 Classic for 2 years but not for much longer! Ive just traded it in for a Skoda Fabia VRS that I will be picking up from the shop in march. The clincher for me was on the test drive when I matched the 9.5sec 0-60 in wet conditions on a gradient with a wheel spin start so cant wait for good conditions!!! Feel free to offer a new owner some advice! Cheers Giz
