  1. Mk1 fabia VRS, Swapping out the near side rear wheel bearing tomorrow but getting mixed search results on hub but torque settings, can anyone clarify? Thanks
  2. @Alasdair1 thanks for the info, ive got some multipurpose grease so ill apply a thin layer, ive also got a new abs sensor, literally everything getting changed!
  3. Hi, I’ve just posted a similar question, I’m doing mine tomorrow with a new hub as well, did you grease the hub before inserting the bearing? If so what type?
  4. Hi, I’m fitting whole new hub, bearing, shock etc tomorrow to my old VRS, my question is what kind of grease is needed inside the hub before I press the bearing in? Is permatex assembly lube ok or perhaps copper grease? Any advice much appreciated.. Thanks
  5. Thanks for the reply! I’ve got my MOT coming up so currently replacing shocks, springs, brakes etc… I’ll probably just get a full clutch kit with DMF and throwout bearing and do it over the coming weeks. If the noise remains then I’ll know it’s likely the input shaft bearing!
  6. So my Fabia VRS has always had an issue with idle, an intermittent rattle with shaking however it stops completely when clutch is pressed down and when driving. No performance issues at all, still a little missile! Mileage is at 107k with a bible of service history. Upon research I’ve discovered it likely being due to input shaft bearings, could this also be down do flywheel or clutch? I’ve also read that a worn alternator pulley can cause this issue… Any input is greatly appreciated! Thanks
  7. @sepulchrave the codes are a throttle position sensor on the pedal and EGR which I’m planning on getting mapped out.
  8. Hi, I recently got a 2006 Fabia VRS, outstanding service history and the only modification is the EGR and EGR cooler removed with the kit from Darkside. It seemed fine until recently I lost power on my way to work, car still drove but like it had no turbo. The power has now returned so possibly an intermittent issue. I checked the MAF sensor by unplugging whilst running and car remained the same so I replaced it but still runs exactly the same wether plugged in or not. Does this suggest a potential MAP sensor issue? Many thanks in advance
