We bought a 24 plate Superb from Derek Slack in February. No high pressure sales and our best experience ever. The final hand over was completed by John Holroyd. On the way home from collecting the car we were hit from behind at a junction - not a good start. We let John know and he offered whatever help he could. Every thing was sorted by insurance with the other driver admitting fault. The only issue with the car was we couldn't register as the primary user. John came past our house after work but couldn't get it to work either. It was arranged that he would collect our car and leave his whilst their technicians fixed. The next day he returned the car, all sorted and everything as it should be. Derek Slacks is a family firm and their attitude shows. Ignoring the pun, their service was superb!

HAs anyone connected their dashcam using the OBD2 port on the 15-23 Superb. If so, any issues or was it straightforward?

What brands of dashcam can be connected directly to the USB C socket on the rear view mirror?

Itried everything possible to get the infotainment to accept me as a primary user. AS the car was still under Skoda warranty at the time and only bought from the dealer a few weeks earlier I wasn't prepared to pay anything to have the fault fixed. Skoda replaced the infotainment 'computer' to no avail. Eventually someone in the dealership contacted someone they knew in Skoda and was told it needed a reset of both keys. They did this and presto, problem solved.

Eventually the garage sorted things by recoding the keys. After that was doe I was able to set myself up as the primary user.

How do you go about updating the maps, my version is still 21.7

My garage replaced the MIB unit ( the brain of the infotainment system) to no effect. Eventually they realised the problem was the coding in one or both of the keys. They keys were recoded at the garage and everything is working perfectly now and I'm able to establish as the primary user.

I have had several months of not being able to register as a primary user on my 2020 new Octavia. Eventually the local garage has managed to sort it. Thanks to Steph Keenan the customer care manager at D M Keiths in York. The problem lay with the keys being incorrectly coded. This morning they recoded the keys and everything is now sorted. If other users are having this issue, and there are, get the Skoda garage to attempt that fix.

I've just driven my Octavia 4 with adaptive cruise control on a motorway for the first time. What a pain! Continually slowing the car when not needed. Can it be reverted to non adaptive, even temporarily.

I recently moved from my 10 year old Superb to a 2 year old Octavia 4. I love the styling but not so impressed with the infotainment system. The car is already booked into the dealer under waranty to have software updated and/or the MIB unit replaced as I could not set up a new primary user. However what I find very annoying is the fact that the lane assist can't be permanently turned off. I drive a lot on twisty country roads - not straight motorways - and its forever nagging me and putting up warnings on the dash. Isn't there some way of disabling it without having to do it every time the engine restarts?

For interest, Skoda Support got back ( reasonably quickly I might add) and said that I would have to put the car into my local dealer who would sort it and they would contact them to tell them what had to be done. Nearest appointment at the local dealer is TWO MONTHS away!!!!! Staggering - Just as well it wasn't something urgent.

I'll see what they're tech folk say. I actually traded in our 10 year old Superb for the Octavia. Must admit that I'm not a huge fan of the infotainment system. I much preferred being able to stab a single button to turn on the air conditioning!

Thanks. I've been in touch with Skoda support who made suggestions such as a factory reset but no change. They're going to up the issue to technical support so we'll see if they know any better! Everything else is working on the car so I don't want to cause other issues and don't know if Skodaconnect is worth having.

I have 1 2020 Octavia IV. I've downloaded and installed and registered the MYSkoda app. I'm recognised as a user on the infotainment screen having removed the previous owner as the primary user. I now need to set myself as the primary user I need to verify myself as the primary user for the car. When I do this I just get the rotating green wheel for, even waiting 10 minutes so I seem to be stuck in an endless lop. I've tried reinstalling the app on my phone but no improvement. Any suggestions?
