  1. Diesel was never going to be an option 🙂
  2. After having two attempts to order Octavia VRs models aborted in the last 4 years due to crazy long lead times I am hopeful of at long last having a Kodiaq on the drive next Spring. Ordered as a family hack to join the BMW 650 and TVR Tuscan to create a sensible fleet, will be used by OH for 8 miles per day commute and general family duties and will be replacing a not quite 2 year old Cupra ST 4Drive that I have tried but failed to bond with Originally planned on ordering a Karoq Sportline but was offered a much better deal on a Kodiaq SE L, that whilst bigger than we really need seems to fit the bill in terms of equipment, only extras ordered are metallic, the gloss black Triglavs and the LED interior light pack
  3. I had a VRS245 on order and cancelled it - looked at both Cupra ST 4Drive and Golf R estates the same morning. To be honest I found the Golfs interior really chintzy - a mass market car trying too hard to be a premium one - standard seat trim awful, lots of high gloss black trim. Cupra trim materials did not feel any worse, seats way better. I could not live with the Holds 18" Cadiz wheels so specifying the Pretorias and DCC added £1800 to the price. Yes I lost the radar cruise but I hate that anyway and have never used cruise control in any of my cars. Has to be said I found the Octavias interior the best out of the three
  4. I am waiting on delivery of a Leon ST 4Drive. Have had numerous pre facelift Leons as hire cars and the facelift model definitely has seen an improvement in interior quality. I did have a VRs245 on order but cancelled due to the inability to give an indication of delivery. After cancelling it was a straight choice between a Golf R and the Leon. Dismissed the Golf because I thought the interior was chintzy, a mainstream car trying and failing to look premium, I actually prefer the more workmanlike interior of the Leon. I'd put the Octavia ahead of both the Golf and Leon
  5. I see the w45 has been removed from the Skoda website configurator
  6. Can't be any worse than the rattles and squeaks from the dash and boot of my M135i
  7. Can't believe buying a car is so damned difficult nowadays. After being offered a great deal on a Golf R I confirmed it yesterday only for them to come back and say that the price had gone up by £40 per month This morning I enquired about a Leon Cupra ST 300 - I did jokingly say that I would have been interested in a Cupra ST 300 4Drive if the monthlies were not so crazily high - 10 mins later I got a quote for just such a car at £3 per month less than the VRs 245 and with an extra 2k per annum allowance - £1800 down and £300 per month including metallic and a couple of other options totalling £1200 Needless to say I placed the order
  8. Now I understand - also completely agree but I never use cruise control anyway :-)
  9. I have confirmed cancellation of my order this morning and ordered a Golf R estate - Turmeric Yellow with the 19" Pretorias (expensive but detest the standard wheels) - adaptive cruise control is standard on the R
  10. I have been offered a Golf R estate with the only options I wanted (metallic and 19" alloy upgrade) and another 2k mileage per year allowance for £25 a month more than the 245 so definitely cancelling tomorrow
  11. I'm seriously think of cancelling my order and going for something that I know will be delivered in line with the not unreasonable lead time I have (May 2018) - can't be doing with this uncertainty
  12. I emailed my dealer this morning and they have said they are aware of the stories doing the rounds but my car (ordered 10th Oct for May delivery) has no known issues and neither do any of their other 245 orders
  13. Queried my order this morning, placed on 10th Oct with Paul at Hortons and he has reassured me that no VRs245s ordered from them have been cancelled and that I should still get my car next may as planned
  14. Heated fronts are standard on UK spec 245's so its effectively £400 for heated rear seats and £100 for the rear USB ports which you cannot have without the heated rear seats
