  1. Thanks Ecomat. managed to get hold of an OBDEleven from a friend who has sold his Golf recently. i will let you know how i get on with it.
  2. Thanks J.R Most helpful.
  3. Thanks guys. i have contacted skoda Stockport again and they have stated its £350 not £250 to recalibrate! I have told them the front trim has fallen away, must not have been fitted securely and the sensor is faulty and requires recalibration under my warrantee period. They have stated that it needs diagnosis at £60 to see whether its covered by warrantee. i will cause a fuss tomorrow when i pick up my replacement grille sensor cover. My insurance does not ask front assist cover questions. I ain't paying £350 for a recalibration. i cannot afford it. full stop. Skoda have also stated that these things are really sensetive and any slight knock can affect calibration, so what's to say after I've had it done it wont fail again. Only had the car 3 months!
  4. i have just ordered some replacemtn trim to as i have lost th eoriginal bit. I think when i infortunately hit a cat running across the road! The part costs about £13 from Skoda however i have been told that the front assist will require recalibrating if i have had a warning about front assist not working, which i have had. To calibrate this they want £250 however?! Anyone know where i can get this done for about a 10th of the price? I asked why so expensive and they said they have to get a specialist in to do it? Id rather leave the fault as all it does is warn if i am getting too near too quickly to an object or car in front. HArdly worth calibrating in my opinion. Cheers,
  5. Correct me if i am wrong but i believe that i should have received an SD card with the car that i bought from a skoda dealership. which is the best / cheapest way to update the satnav and infotainment system to the latest software. I've just been quoted £270 just for a new SD card from skoda stockport. skoda Dudley, from whom i bought the car, are telling me i can purchase a disc from a skoda dealer for around £40. I did ask them to update the systems before i bought and pocked up the car but they didn't. Also advise required on the old cambelt change chestnut. i also asked the garage to change the cambelt which they said they would of if it came up on the service requirements. The car is 5 years old but had done only 8000 miles so a bit of a quandary as to know what to do. they didn't change it before i collected it. Any help much appreciated.
