  1. On the same topic, I got 2015 Superb Estate Greenline III 1.6 TDI. When asked my main dealer, they said 4 years or 75k miles whichever comes first. Shall I follow these guidelines or there is different timing for this? I read somewhere else that other Skoda dealerships in Continental Europe suggest change after 210k km or 130k miles. As I am aproaching 75k and the car is just over 4 year I relly would need to address this problem.
  2. Pfuu! I thought I was targeted by theif as my neighbour recently got his car broken into without force...
  3. Not sure, I may have... Is it possible to lower all 4 windows by doing this?
  4. Hello, To my surprise I found my car (Skoda Superb Estate Mk.2) with all 4 windows all the way down today, when parked in front of my house after short trip. I am 101% sure I didn't leave it like that. The doors were still locked and nothing was missing. Is this something to worry about my car's safety? Is it a common fault with the car or is it something car theives are able to do with some sort of device to open doors or windows? I am puzzled! Thanx for taking the time to read this and reply!
  5. Just to answer partly my own question - Quote from the warranty booklet: We will not pay for: Airbags, batteries, non-Xenon and non-LED bulbs, exhaust systems, water ingress (including damage to covered parts caused by water), wiper blades, wheel balancing and alignment; wiring, wiring looms, connections and fuses, wheels and tyres. Any losses or damage to components that are not directly covered within the terms of this warranty. All bodywork components including encased aerials, paintwork, glass, seals, sunroof assemblies, soft top roofs, and any component, which may require adjustment from time to time. Body panels. Catalytic converters and diesel particulate filters. Diagnostic time of any type (unless incurred as part of a valid claim). Routine servicing (all components replaced associated with routine servicing are excluded). All adjustments, cam belt timing, diesel pump timing or cleaning. Components that are not of a matching quality to ŠKODA approved components . Seat frames. Gas struts. Strikers and hinges. Brake frictional material . Clutch frictional material . Constant Velocity (CV) boot gaiters. External oil leaks (unless it requires the removal of a major component e.g. Engine, Gearbox, Rear Axle), lubricants, filter elements and any damage caused by frost or lack of anti-freeze, impact, accident or negligence. Electrical software update or reprogramming unless required due to the failure of a covered part. Interior trim including seats, seat belts and pre-tensioners. Normal maintenance services, and the replacement of such items as, but not limited to, spark plugs, plug leads, oils, filters and lubricants (the cambelt is covered providing it has been maintained correctly). Recharging of the air conditioning unit, owing to natural depletion of the refrigerant. Renewal of any clutch components due to wear and tear , misuse or incorrect adjustment. Renewal of brake components due to wear and tear or constant use of the brakes. The clearing of fuel lines, filters, fuel injection system, throttle body, pumps and any damage caused by contaminated or incorrect fuel. The gradual reduction in operating performance ( wear and tear ) due to the age and mileage of the covered vehicle. Traffic management system, telephone including Bluetooth, TV/ DVD, satellite navigation system and associated equipment of all types. We will not pay for fixed or portable in car entertainment systems including, but not limited to, audio or video equipment, games consoles, CD multi-changers, MP3 or iPod equipment, speakers, amplifiers, remote controls. Any exclusion detailed under the General Exclusions sec types. And this considered almost defies the subject of having extended warranty! :-(
  6. Hi all! My standard 3 years warranty is about to expire at the end of this month and I am at dilemma if I should purchase extended warranty from Skoda direct (as seen on their web-site LINK) There are 2 options: Named part & All parts Cover, but it isn't very clear which parts are excluded and which scenarios would not result damaged/faulty part to be fixes free of charge. Also does general wear & tear would be covered, for example clutch/flywheel or turbo? I could not find much relevant information in the search, so I would like to ask other Superb Mk.2 owners to share views and experience. Cheers!
  7. Hi! Would you mind attaching picture of the front of your car with LED's on? I am considering doing something to mine, but wondered what it would look like. Thanx!
  8. Thanx for the advise, chimaera! Checked up with the seller and it happened the tyres are late 2011, which is a bit too old I suppose. Will be picking up different wheels tomorrow, this time stock 16" Skoda steels from an Yeti. Then will be purchasing brand new winters. No point of gambling with used ones.
  9. I am about to buy these VW wheels second hand fitted with winter tyres. I don't have them, otherwise I could have tried them on. Still not 100% convinced about the actual tyres, as I know old winters (and any) tyres could be ruined by inappropriate storage or old age. mytyres web store has some fitted sets of wheels for almost any car and it comes to about £460 for 4 fully fitted wheels with mid-range Falken or similar tyres.
  10. Thank you, chimaera! Never heard of problems with insurer over winter tyres, but I will research this!
  11. Excuse me for bringing an old topic back on, but my question is in connection with this one. Can I use VW Passat steel wheels from 2007 model on my 2015 Superb 1.6 TDI Greenline? The Steel wheels are exactly the same size as my standard Skoda alloys 205/55/16. I wondered if bolt pattern and center bore are compatible with my model? Many Thanx!
  12. Thanks Pesmog! With some aid it worked this time. We managed to unscrew the bulb holder and then had to wiggle a lot with the bulb to pull it out! Finlay, it's out and replaced with fresh one. Let's see for how long! Thanx to everyone who tries to help with advise. Appreciated!
  13. Hi Tilt! Thanks for your reply! I did look into this, but it's not going to be easy job as with many other cars and models. It will require dropping off the bumper, same as on my Merc.
  14. Thanx numskull! I thought about it, but then I remeber when I went to Halfords to replace xenon light bulb to my Merc and the guy there managed not just to screw up my entire headlight, but also they sold me the wrong replacement bulb and left me to deal with this on my own. It took several garage visits and purchasing number of diffenent bulbs, cause they throw away the original one so I could not match exact model. Even to this day I still have error on my dash due to Halford's incompetence! So, no thanx Halfords!
  15. Hi! I need help with replacing the bulb to my headlight's dipped beam. Even as it looks as а simple task, they just won't come out for some unknown reason. I followed closely the instructions from owner's manual that states it have to be turned left 1/4 step and pulled back. After many unsuccessful effort I gave up and called a mechanic, who also failed to remove the faulty bulb. Is there something Skoda didn't tell us or is it little stupid trick? I spoke to the main dealer and they are not covering faulty bulbs in the car's warranty. They offered to replace the bulb for me (against charge), but I had to wait for 2-3 weeks for a weekend appointment, because I cannot take day off work just to change a light bulb in my car! I am really stuck with this and I can't drive my car in the dark that causes me a lot of grief!
