I took it off mate there's a metal frame inside it seems to be one piece there's nothing I can see to get it off I've removed the old one will have to order a whole unit thanks anyway. -

The bottom trim is just missing some plastic at the end so it needs replacing the bottom trim must be able to come off at the joint surely I can't see how though well and truly stumped and no one seems to know. -
I have a fabia mk2 but I understand the wing mirrors are the same somebody smashed my wing mirror cap off top bit and front mirror trim mirror glass is fine but lower plastic is damaged too I have bought all the plastic casing to replace but have no idea how to remove the damaged lower casing can anyone shed light on it many thanks.

Yes that's it mate the black half of the wing mirror I just can't see how to get it off I was able to buy the part so there is a way to get it off I just need pointing in the right direction maybe I need to take the mirror off to see it .- 15 replies

I understand that the top cap and the front surrounding are already smashed off the bottom half is damaged so want to replace this also but I don't know how to remove the bottom trim this is the info I need I've seen a drawing but it doesn't explain much .- 15 replies

Hi I have a replacement top cap and bottom trim but have no idea how to get the bottom off there seems to be a washer on top of a spring when I look underneath I cannot see anything to undo it help.- 15 replies

Is there a special tool to get the locking washer off I just can't see where I'm able to undo the bottom trim there is a plastic plug cover underneath but there's nothing to undo it stumped . -

Mrgf thanks I have a drawing from another post the top casing is completely gone with the front casing that holds it all together bottom trim is cracked and missing some plastic so needs replacing mirror and functions are fine it just looks a bit tricky to remove the bottom trim could do with seeing it done really. -
Hi can anyone help how do I remove the lower plastic trim on my driver side mirror I smashed most of the casing mirror is intact and still operates fine I have replacement casings top and bottom but could do with knowing how to remove bottom trim thanks .

Hi j grindel my name's Daniel kendrick I have a 1.4 vrs fabia I'm going to replace my wing mirror but obviously need to take the door panel in this diagram items 6-7 are the Torx screws I need to order the tools what size are they please ??

After looking into the service history all 4 plugs replaced on 32k and nothing since that means exactly 32 k later they have gone so makes sense of what you are saying just trying to get It in a dealer now have to ring back first thing tomorrow Well I'm not a terrorist and i won't be losing any sleep they have no evidence anyway but thanks
